Mobil, UBA, Case & White, for ESQ Oil and Gas Summit 2012
LAGOS-Exxon Mobil, UBA and Case & White UK as signaled intention to join other leading Oil & Gas, Finance and Legal institutions from across Nigeria, the United Kingdom and South Africa as they discuss major issues surrounding the Oil & Gas sector in Nigeria at the ESQ Oil and Gas 2012 Summit holding in Lagos in May.
In a statement to the Summit organisers, ESQ Legal Practice Magazine, Executive Director of Exxon Mobil, Ibe Kachikwu, states, “Your conference is apt and I am happy to participate.”
Mr. Kachikwu will also lead the discussion on Enhancing Nigeria’s Institutional, Legal and Regulatory Framework to Support Optimal Oil Production at the event, alongside the former Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Mr. Odein Ajumogobia, SAN.
While affirming her participation at the Infrastructure and Nigerian Content session, Deputy General Manager, UBA Metropolitan Insurance Limited, Mrs R.V. Emenike, noted, “I believe that ideas from forums like this are required to fully harness the huge potentials in this critical sector of our economy. As a result, I accept with interest to participate.”
According to the Chairman, NBA Section on Business Law, Mr. Gbenga Oyebode, who will be delivering a keynote speech at the Summit, “This conference is coming at the best time when the PIB is being re-drafted. I believe the last minute intervention will assist the government in the ongoing reforms.”
Dr. Bayo Adaralegbe, Partner at Babalakin & Co, also disclosed that, “This is the first time leading experts in Oil & Gas Law from the Major IOCs, NOCs, government officials, banks and insurance companies will be gathering to discuss issues relating to their future closer inter relationship.”
Mr. Jason Kerr, Partner at White & Case, UK, will deliver a paper on Legal Issues Relating to International Financing of Oil and Gas Projects.
Led by the Honouable Minister for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, the ESQ Oil and Gas 2012 Summit is a one-day conference and exhibition that brings together experts in Oil & Gas, Finance and the legal profession to examine topical legal, regulatory and business issues in Oil & Gas in Nigeria.
The Summit is endorsed by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, and the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law.
