Aviation experts advocate for a cargo carrier in Nigeria

Aviation experts amongst the ground handling companies in the country has called on the Federal Government to provide a cargo plane that would facilitate the movement of goods across the nation’s airports.
Disclosing this development to newsmen, Managing Director of the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc, NAHCO aviance, Mr. Kayode Ojo noted that it was high time that Nigeria operates a cargo carrier in the country.
According to him,”having a domestic air cargo operation is not impossible in Nigeria. We know that flowers are moved from East Africa to Europe everyday, so it is possible if we give it a chance in Nigeria”
He however noted that at moment, the present condition of the cargo operators at the cargo village was not in good adding that there should be a collaborative effort in place to make sure that the airport environment especially the cargo village get improved.
“We are discussing with one of the security agencies on how we can collaborate so that we can have an airport environment that we are proud of. I believe that the situation is going to improve, we can’t afford to allow it to stay as it is” he stressed.
