By Oyise Oghene
There was low turn out of passenger today at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, MMA2 and the General Aviation Terminal (GAT), Lagos.
Biztellers was at the MMA2 terminal and gathered that most airline operators had few passengers traffic as only few passengers were seen on the queues trying to get their tickets.
As at the time of filling this report, Biztellers learnt that only three flight on Aero Contractors had departed from Lagos to Port-Harcourt for 10:30am, Lagos to Abuja for 11:00am and Lagos to Uyo for 11:00am while passengers were boarding for the flight at 1:45pm from Lagos to Abuja.
Biztellers was also at the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) and gathered that there were also few passengers who were busy buying tickets at the Arik Air counter.
A source close to one of the airlines who spoke on the condition of anonymity to our correspondent said that he was not surprised at the low patronage of air passengers noting that it happens like that occasionally during holidays.
According to him, “it is normal, in fact this one is a very long holiday, that is how it has always been. You know at times like this, a lot of people, a lot of Nigerians prefer to take their time off and relax with their families, friends and loved ones, so you don’t expect a large turn out of passenger traffic during holidays like this”
