Flour Mills spends N9.7b on plant expansion

FLOUR Mills of Nigeria Plc has made plans to spend N9.7 billion on plant expansion facilities in order to increase its milling plant to 15, even as it plans to emerge as the second largest flour miller in the world.
The Chief Executive Officer of Flour Mills, Mr Emmanuel Ukpabi, disclosed that the West Mill designed to host 4 of the company’s plants with a capacity of 2,750 tonnes per day is near completion and will bring the flour production total to 18,500 tonnes per day.
“Our millers and quality assurance personnel continue to attend courses in the USA, Europe
and South Africa for improved skills and exposure to modern technology. In order to formalise our commitment to product quality assurance, we have commenced the process of seeking accreditation to the quality standard ISO 9001:2008. This will help set a benchmark to
measure our performance against best global practice within the flour milling industry,” he said
