Oyo State Assures Airtel on Partnership

IBADAN: The government of Oyo State has expressed its readiness to partner with Airtel Nigeria in its quest to stimulate grassroots development through the provision of quality telecommunication services that are at par with best global practices.
Hon. Tunde Olaniyan, deputy speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, gave the assurance in his remarks during the corporate re-launch of the Airtel brand in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital recently.
Hon. Olaniyan stated that the vision of the Government to place the state among the best in the country comparable to what obtains in developed economies would only be possible through quality partnerships.
He said: “We will continue to support serious-minded partners like Airtel by creating an enabling environment for investments that will support quality lifestyles and help our people attain success in life. We are particularly pleased with the quality and quantum of investments that Airtel has made and is making in Nigeria”.
He describe the people of Oyo state as gregarious, industrious, receptive to positive ideas and innovations and always willing to collaborate with people and organizations.
He added, “because you are interested in our welfare, we shall equally, extend our hand of friendship and fellowship to Airtel”.
Also speaking, the Ikoloba of Olubadan, Oloye Lekan Alabi, said Airtel Nigeria has proved a worthy partner within the short period it has operated in the country as attested to by the quality of service it offers.
The High Chief particularly stressed Airtel’s pocket-friendly tariffs and range of innovative telecoms solutions, describing the feat as unprecedented.
“We know of the transformation you have brought to bear on the telecoms landscape since you came into Nigeria in 2010. I am more than delighted to hear your lofty agenda for Oyo State and having witnessed first-hand, your detailed road map that would bring these plans to reality, I thank you for considering us worthy of such gesture”, he stated.
Several dignitaries that cut across government officials, the Oyo state business community and Airtel management led by the Chief Sales Officer, Inusa Bello, witnessed the grand occasion.
