NCC Queries Telecoms Operators Over Poor Service
ABUJA: The Nigerian Communications Commission (NNC) has queried telecoms operators in the country, asking them to explain why service quality dropped in the last one month.
NCC’s director of public affairs, Tony Ojobo, who disclosed this yesterday in Abuja, said the commission had, in recent times, been overwhelmed by an avalanche of complaints from subscribers over their inability to make or receive calls.
Ojobo said the letter asked the operators to explain why the situation has become so poor, adding appropriate sanctions would be slammed if the operators are found wanting.
He also said that the regulator would deploy its engineers to test the facilities of the operators to see if they meet the key performance indicators (KPIs) the operators agreed to meet.
