Samsung reveals Galaxy S4 Mini
….The new 107g phone will have 5GB available to the user
TOKYO – Samsung has confirmed it will release a new Galaxy S4 mini, a little brother to the Galaxy S4 that was launched just over a month ago.
The new model will feature a 4.3 inch 960×540 Super AMOLED screen and a 1.7GHz dual-core processor with 1.5GB of RAM.
The Mini also comes with a 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera and an eight megapixel camera on the rear, Samsung confirmed on its blog.
The model will have 8GB of internal storage, with 5GB available to the user.
Running on the latest version of Android (version 4.2.2 – Jelly Bean), the device also includes additional Samsung-branded software such as ‘Sound & Shot’, which allows users to record a still image accompanied by nine seconds of audio, and ‘Panorama Shot’ for wide-angle pictures.
Other features include ‘S Translator’, which provides “instant text or voice translation” for travellers, and ‘S Health’, a downloadable app that allows the phone to function as fitness tracker, counting user’s daily steps, recording their sleeping patterns and featuring “real-time heart monitoring”.
Different versions of the Mini will be released, including one with 4G LTE capabilities, as well as a 3G and 3G dual-SIM handset.
The handset weighs 107 grams, compared to the S4’s 130 gram, and is available in black and white.
