Sony PlayStation 4 hits shops in Europe
LONDON – The Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) games console has arrived in Europe – two weeks after it was released in the United States, where one million were sold in less than 24 hours.
Japan’s Sony is going head-to-head with US rival Microsoft, which launched its newest console – the Xbox One – last week.
The two are similar in terms of hardware. But the PS4 is seen as aimed more squarely at gamers, while the Xbox One provides a wider range of entertainment services, integrating television and Skype.
Their US debuts were evenly matched. Microsoft also shifted a million Xbox Ones within a day of release.
