Arik Air cancels flight to New York

LAGOS: Due to the Hurricane Sandy that was expected to hit the East coast of the United States of America on Monday, Arik airline has cancelled all its New York bound flight from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
Biztellers also learnt that most of the airlines that were flying to the East coast of the United States all cancelled their flight for the day amongst which were British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Emirates and Etihad Airways.
Speaking to our correspondent on the cancellation of all its flight to New York, Spokesman for Arik Air, Mr. Adebanji Ola pointed out that the airline has cancelled all its flights on the Lagos-New York route as a result of the hurricane sandy that was expected to hit the East coast of the US on Monday.
“We have cancelled all our flights heading for New York, USA today. This decision is based on the heavy storm “hurricane sandy” that is expected to hit the east coast of America. We don’t want to put the lives of our passengers in danger” he said.
