Inside Hilda Baci’s Guinness World Record Journey
Hilda Baci is a 27 years old young Nigerian chef from Akwa Ibom State who embarked on a mission to break the Guinness World Record for the longest time spent cooking non-stop.
She started the cooking on Thursday and is expected to complete the target time frame by today, Monday 15th May, 2023 by 4pm.
Hilda owns a food brand in Lagos called “My Food by Hilda” And Her attempt to break the current holder of the title of an Indian chef known as Lata Tandon, who set the Record by cooking for 87 hours and 45 minutes non-stop in 2019 is taking place at Amore Gardens, Lekki, Lagos State, Nigeria.
To break the record, Hilda is attempting to cook for 96 hours, using an extra nine hours to break the world record as the first human on earth to spend such an amount of time cooking a marathon.
The cooking project is tagged “Cook-a-thon,” a phrase literally coined from the word “marathon.”
Most of the food items, ingredients, utensils, etc. she used for this project are provided by her sponsors.
It was gathered that the money expended on this project is not 100% from Hilda or her food brand.
Uber, one of her partners, is offering a 40% discounted ride to the venue for people who wish to join and cheer her up at the venue.
According to findings, Hilda’s mum is also a chef who owns a food brand called “Calabar Pot.”
According to the rules set by Guinness World Record, Hilda will be cooking for four days straight with no sleep.
She is not allowed to sit while cooking and must stand for the entire duration of the marathon.
She is also prohibited from taking coffee, stimulants, or any energy drink to artificially boost her energy and bodily strength while cooking. However, she is allowed to eat food, drink water or fruit juice, and take glucose.
The young chef is cooking round the clock, with no sleep, for four nights but she is entitled to just five minutes rest or break per hour, meaning that for every one hour, she is entitled to just five minutes break or rest.
She also gets a 30-minute break every six hours, during which she can nap, use the restroom, and also get a medical assessment or checkup by the medical team available on the spot.
The food must be edible and every single one of it has to be consumed.
Whatever Hilda cooks during the marathon is shared for free to the people at the venue,
She is at liberty to cook any meal she likes, and there are no restrictions on what she can cook or not cook.
Hilda is however determined to break this record and make her mark in the culinary worldworld as she is being cheered on by Nigerians nationwide and high personalities such as Governor sanwo olu of Lagos state, Atiku Abubakar, Peter obi and others.
