Afeez Agoro, known as the tallest man in Nigeria gained significant attention due to his extraordinary height of approximately 7 feet 4 inches.

His imposing stature instantly captures people’s interest wherever he goes, overshadowing those around him.

Agoro, nicknamed “Mr. Tallest,” has embraced his celebrity status and ventured into the entertainment industry, pursuing a career as an actor and reality TV personality.

Born on December 13, 1975, in Sabo Yaba, a community in Lagos State, Nigeria, Agoro grew up in Akoka Yaba, receiving his education there. Initially, he displayed average height during his childhood and adolescence.

However, his growth spurt began at the age of 19 when he experienced an illness that caused him to rapidly increase in height.

Despite medical attempts to determine the cause of his unusual growth, no concrete answers were found.

Agoro’s height eventually surpassed that of anyone his friends, family, and neighbors had ever seen, unofficially crowning him as Nigeria’s tallest man.

Agoro’s father, recognizing his unique height, built a house to accommodate his son’s needs before his passing in 2005.

It was only during a visit to the United States that Agoro discovered he had been diagnosed with acromegaly, a condition causing abnormal growth. Despite receiving medication to halt further growth, it proved ineffective.

He began to be referred to as “Nigeria’s tallest man” and garnered media attention through interviews and appearances on television shows.

He spent six months in the United States following the visa issuance.

Recall that Afeez Agoro passed away at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) after battling a prolonged illness on Wednesday night as reported by BIZTELLERS.

The news of his demise was shared on Thursday by popular Twitter influencer Pamilerin Adegoke through a tweet.

Announcing Agoro’s death, Adegoke tweeted; “Nigerian tallest man Afeez Agoro Oladimeji is dead after suffering from prolonged sickness.”

Before his death, he had been bedridden for the past 8 months.
