Again, Police Arrest Singer Speed Darlington In Owerri
Nigerian musician, Darlington Okoye, known by his stage name Speed Darlington, was arrested by the Nigerian Police in Owerri, Imo State, during his return to the country for a performance.
The arrest was confirmed by his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday morning.
“Our client Speed Darlington, a.k.a. AKPI, has been arrested by the Nigerian police in Owerri at his show upon his return to Nigeria,” Adeyanju wrote.

The circumstances surrounding the arrest remain unclear, and the reason for his detention has not yet been made public.
Speed Darlington was reportedly arrested while attending a scheduled show in the southeastern city.
This is not the first time the controversial artist has faced legal issues.
In October 2024, Speed Darlington was arrested for allegedly cyberstalking fellow musician Burna Boy.
He was held in detention for five days before being granted bail on October 9.
As of now, there has been no further statement from the police or Speed Darlington’s legal team regarding the new arrest.
