The Nigerian skit-making industry has been thriving and here are the top 10 skit makers with the highest views on YouTube in Q1, 2023.

 

According to Dataleum, a digital analytics firm that released a quarterly report on the entertainment industry, the  analysis was based on the number of views gained by each skit maker on YouTube in the first quarter of the year.

 

Below are the top 10 skit makers:

 

1) Sam Spedy

At the top of the list is Sam Spedy, who recorded an impressive 36.87 million views on his skits in Q1, 2023.

 

2) Mark Angel

Top 10 Nigerian Skit Makers With Highest Views On YouTube

Mark Angel, who has been in the skit-making industry for a while, comes in second place with 35.63 million views. Mark Angel is famous for his “Mark Angel Comedy” skits.

 

3) Taaooma

Top 10 Nigerian Skit Makers With Highest Views On YouTube

Taaooma whose real name is Maryam Apaokagi, comes in third place with 15.70 million views. she is known for her humorous take on parenting, and her skits have resonated with a large audience, making her one of the most sought-after skit makers in Nigeria.

 

4) Brainjotter

In fourth place is Brainjotter, with 15.68 million views. Brainjotter’s skits are known for their comical themes that highlight social and political issues.

Another notable skit maker Sabinus comes in fifth place with 15.32 million views. Sabinus’ skits are known for their relatable and humorous take on everyday life situations.

Florence Otedola, known as DJ Cuppy, a renowned disc jockey and daughter of Nigerian billionaire, Femi Otedola, has made history as the first Nigerian to host an opening session at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

The nightlifer, who recently married his longtime girlfriend, Thayour B, warned that it can be dangerous to do so, as the information found on a partner’s phone could lead to emotional distress or even pose a risk to one’s mental well-being and life.

Speaking in a video message shared via his Instagram account, Yhemolee said, “My friend called me this morning and told me his fiancée is in the hospital struggling to breathe.

“I asked if she had any terminal illness and he said no. He said she checked his phone overnight. My point is, stop checking your partner’s phone, if you die, the person that made you lose your life will move on.

“My friend confirmed to me that if his fiancée went through his phone very well, she might not survive and even if she survives, whenever she remembers what she saw, she would be traumatised.”
