CEO Fitt Hotels And Foundation Feeds 800 Families, Seek Support Amid Rising Hunger
The CEO of Fitt Hotels and Founder Fitt Foundation Feyisayo Adeniyi highlights the urgent need for increased support as hunger levels continue to rise in local communities.
The Foundation, which has been a pillar of relief for the Itire, Ijesha, Lawanson, and Aguda areas since the COVID-19 pandemic, is calling on residents, individuals, and associations to contribute to its efforts.
With more families facing severe food insecurity, the Foundation’s mission to provide monthly relief and resources has become more critical than ever.
The company has consistently provided staple foods to over 800 families during each give-away event, ensuring significant support to those in need.
On 4th June 2024, Fitt successfully conducted its 10th food distribution drive. However, this edition was marked by mixed emotions as the level of hunger and poverty in the area had noticeably increased.
The growing number of impoverished residents necessitated the organisation of the distribution into two sessions, allowing provisions to be made for an additional 800 families on the same day.
This decision was taken when it became apparent that the number of people in need far exceeded those who initially benefitted.
In response to the escalating need for assistance, Fitt has announced the creation of the Fitt Foundation. This newly established foundation will take on the responsibility of providing monthly relief, resources, opportunities, advocacy, capacity building, and collaborative efforts with both local and state governments.
The foundation’s mission is driven by a profound desire to give back to the community, ensuring that the support extends beyond periodic food distributions.
The Fitt Foundation invites residents, individuals, communities, and associations to join in its cause. By offering what they can, supporters can help strengthen the foundation’s efforts to provide ongoing relief and resources to those in need.
This collaborative approach aims to create a more resilient and supportive community, where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

A gas cylinder explosion at a filling station in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State has resulted in significant damage to six vehicles, according to a statement from the Katsina State Police Command.
The command’s spokesperson, Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, confirmed the incident, which occurred on Friday, November 15, 2024.
He explained that a loud explosion alerted police operatives from the Jibia Divisional Police Headquarters. Responding promptly, the Divisional Police Officer led a team to the site, supported by military personnel.

“Upon arrival, operatives found a truck loaded with gas cylinders engulfed in flames at Tamal filling station, along Kagadama-Magamar Jibia Road,” Sadiq-Aliyu stated. The joint team acted swiftly, deploying measures to protect lives and limit property damage. Their efforts successfully extinguished the fire.
The spokesperson added, “Six motor vehicles were significantly affected by the fire incident, but fortunately, no life was lost.”
State Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Abubakar-Musa, has directed a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the explosion. Updates on the findings will be provided as investigations progress.
This incident highlights the need for heightened safety measures at gas filling stations to prevent such occurrences.
