Bulkachuwa’s Confession: Ezekwesili Blasts Judiciary, Political Class
Oby Ezekwesili has admonished the judiciary and the political class to embark on a journey of self-cleansing to earn public respect.
She took to tweeter to express disgust at how the immediate past Senate President, Ahmed Lawan swiftly moved to cover crime and called on the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to institute an enquiry into the political cases decided under the influence of Senator Adamu Muhammad Bulkachuwa, (APC-Bauchi State).
This follows the theatre of the absurd which played out at the valedictory session of the Senate, recently, of which many Nigerians are still finding it hard to recover from the shock.
Ezekwesili took to her verified tweeter handle, @obyezeks to fire several salvos at the judiciary and the political class, insisting that they have been hawking our democracy.
She tweeted, “The Nigerian Judiciary and a corrupted political class are steadily confirming how they trade our Democracy.
“What was that Senator saying in the Senate Chamber again?
“The outgone Senate President @DrAhmadLawan should be ashamed of himself for covering up confession of crime.”
Biztellers reports that Senator Adamu Muhammad Bulkachuwa, (APC-Bauchi State) had made it clear that he presided over the Appeal Court, through his wife, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa to swing judicial decisions in favour of political allies.
Biztellers reports that Justice Bulkachuwa occupied the exalted position of President of the Appeal Court until she retired at the mandatary age of 70 years.
Though the immediate past Senate President, Sen Lawan, probably understood the gravity of Sen Bulkachuwa’s uncensored and indiscreet utterances, and tried to stop him, the can of worms was already opened.
Ezekwesili and her likes have now laid hold of the dirty linens washed in the public at the valedictory session to insist that the judiciary has to show cause why the public must continue to repose confidence in them.
“The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court should immediately institute investigation of all election cases that came before the former President of Appeal Court, the wife of the confessing Senator that compromised her if there’s any honor left in the Judiciary of this country,” she tweeted.
Recall that during the same session, Senator Rochas Okorocha (APC-Imo State) wondered how Senator Lawan managed to return to the Senate without being nominated. A feat, the former Senate President also attributed to the judiciary, even though he didn’t have to appeal the decisions of the court.
It does appear that with Sen Bulkachuwa’s confessions, Nigerians who have been at sea as to how a candidate who placed fourth in a gubernatorial election in Imo State became governor can now begin to sail ashore.

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has charged the Managing Director of the Edo State Traffic Control Management Agency (EDSTMA), Engr. Stainless Ijeghede on indiscriminate parking and traffic gridlock, especially in market areas.
According to a statement in Benin City on Friday, by Chief Press Secretary to Edo State Governor, Fred Itua, his principal gave the charge while decorating Ijeghede with his new rank as the head of EDSTMA.

He called on Ijeghede and men of the agency to ensure they checked indiscriminate parking of vehicles and buses, especially in market areas.
“Edo State belongs to all of us and whatever we are doing, we should do it with care not to harm anybody. I appeal to EDSTMA to ensure that the city is well kept because whenever I drive round town, I see vehicles everywhere as the city is not well kept.
“This is your primary assignment. You should ensure the city is well kept as vehicles park indiscriminately and they are causing obstruction. Traffic is not flowing as it should and it is causing serious gridlock. Is it that you are not doing your job well?

Monitor markets very well as these areas are looking really unkempt with vehicles and buses parked indiscriminately, causing traffic gridlock. Edo people are worst hit. They suffer from this. Ensure free flow of traffic so that the people will be happy,” Governor Okpebholo emphasized.
