Inside Boko Haram: Maiduguri Bomber Reveals How Attacks Are Planned and Paid
A suspected Boko Haram suicide bomber has provided chilling insight into the operations of the terror group, revealing how attacks are meticulously planned, executed, and even paid for.
Ibrahim Mohammed, captured by troops of Operation HADIM KAI in collaboration with local hunters in Yobe State, admitted to receiving payments ranging from N70,000 to N100,000 per suicide bombing mission.
He confessed to carrying out the December 24 attack at Gamboru Market Mosque in Maiduguri, which left five dead and 32 injured.

“I am Ibrahim from Michika, Adamawa. We came to Maiduguri to plant bombs in Izala Mosque. Our leaders, Adamu and Abubakar, gave us two IEDs to plant,” Ibrahim disclosed during interrogation.
He explained that Boko Haram operatives exploit times when mosques are empty.
“We came after Zuhur and Asr prayers pretending to pray. My colleague planted one IED in the center while I planted the other by the side. We set the timing for five minutes, and as people gathered for Maghrib prayers, the bombs detonated,” he said.
Authorities say Ibrahim’s confession highlights the organized and systematic nature of Boko Haram’s terror operations, as well as the financial incentives used to recruit operatives for deadly missions.
Security forces continue to investigate and clamp down on terrorist networks in the region.
