Man Arrested For Alleged Defilement Of Physically Challenged 13-Year-Old
The Delta State Police Command has arrested Ezekiel Elijah, a 32-year-old man, for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old physically challenged girl in Aviara, Isoko South Local Government Area.
The arrest was announced by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, in a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday.
Bright disclosed that the suspect lured the girl into his home and committed the alleged crime.

“He deceived this girl, took her into his house, locked her inside, and sexually molested her,” Bright said during the suspect’s interrogation.
The victim, described as physically challenged and in need of care, was particularly vulnerable, making the case more distressing. “She’s someone that needs a guardian… someone that needs assistance,” Bright noted.
Elijah claimed he was unaware of the victim’s age, but Bright emphasized that the law does not excuse ignorance in cases involving minors.
“Whether she agrees or not is immaterial… she has not gotten to that age where she can decide for herself,” Bright explained.
The suspect, who hails from Adjara in the Isoko area, reportedly admitted to initially calling out to the victim while she was passing with others. The girl later returned alone, which allegedly led to the crime.
The police have forwarded the case to the courts, where Elijah will face charges of defilement.
Bright stressed the gravity of the offense and the police’s commitment to ensuring justice.
“The offence of defilement is a very clear one. Provided she’s not of an age where she can give consent; consent is immaterial and will be treated as defilement,” he said.
Authorities have urged members of the public to report similar cases to aid the protection of vulnerable individuals and enforce justice
