No Deal: Chelsea Not Pursuing PSG Goalkeeper Donnarumma

Chelsea are not in the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, despite renewed speculation linking the Italian with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, posting on X on Tuesday, stated “Chelsea are not in active talks to sign Gigio Donnarumma despite links. He’s not a target as Chelsea are happy with their goalkeepers.”

The clarification comes as signs grow of a potential departure for Donnarumma from the French champions.

The 26-year-old was left out of the squad for the recent UEFA Super Cup, and his position has been further threatened by PSG’s £34–40 million signing of Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier.

Although both Chelsea and Manchester United have been linked to the Euro 2020 winner, sources suggest there have been no concrete negotiations.

Donnarumma, who arrived at PSG from AC Milan in 2021 on a free transfer, has two years remaining on his contract but is yet to agree to an extension, a situation that could prompt PSG to consider offers before the close of the transfer window.
