Prioritize Having Kids Over Marriage – Laide Bakare Advises Career Women

Published

Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has offered career-driven women some unconventional advice on balancing family and professional life.

According to the 43-year-old actress, women aspiring for long-term career success should consider starting a family early, even if it means doing so without being married.

In a recent interview with Nollywood On Radio, Bakare emphasized the importance of motherhood for women aiming for career longevity.

She believes that prioritising having children early on can free up more time and focus for their careers in the future.

“If you are aspiring to be a successful superstar as a young girl, I would advise you to get married and have kids early so that you can have the rest of your years to push your career because the family area is very important,” she said.

However, she clarified that marriage is not a requirement for starting a family, citing her personal experience as an example.

“I know getting married early may lead to divorce but I mean starting a family early. Maybe I should retract that because I do not mean marriage. I never thought of marriage when I had my first child, I just wanted a baby,” Bakare shared.

The actress’s perspective reflects her life journey. She had her first child, a daughter named Simi, in 2008 during her marriage to Olumide Kunfulire. After their split, she married Lagos socialite Tunde Oriowo in 2013, with whom she has two sons.

Bakare’s advice to women challenges traditional ideas surrounding marriage and family, focusing instead on motherhood as a priority for achieving a balanced life.

The actress’s bold statement is likely to ignite conversations among career-oriented women, particularly those navigating the complexities of balancing family life and professional growth.

Kanye West’s ex-assistant, Lauren Pisciotta, has filed a lawsuit accusing the rapper of multiple instances of sexual harassment and assault.

Pisciotta, an influencer and former OnlyFans star, claims that West drugged and raped her at a party co-hosted by Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Pisciotta alleges she only learned of the assault when West confessed in 2022.

In addition to this incident, Pisciotta claims West attempted to rape her a second time, harassed her with explicit texts and unwanted advances, and engaged in physical violence, including choking her at a concert after she refused his sexual advances.

Pisciotta also accuses West of “swatting” her multiple times, where false emergency calls were made to authorities claiming dangerous situations at her home.

Pisciotta’s claims include that West offered her a $3 million severance after firing her, but never paid it.

She has alleged harassment in multiple cities, including Paris, Los Angeles, Miami, and New York, and recounts years of torment, including false insinuations by West that they had a sexual relationship.

This lawsuit follows a pattern of other legal troubles for West, including previous allegations of misconduct. Pisciotta’s suit is ongoing.
