Movie producer's Asking Me For S3xual Roles, Says Bimbo Ademoye

 

Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye has described how early in her career, film makers tried to take advantage of her curvy body.

 

The actress claimed that due of her attractive body, directors wanted to cast her in sleazy roles but she turned them down.

 

She disclosed this in a recent interview with Sun Newspaper.

 

The comic actress said it was Uduak Isong who first gave her the opportunity to showcase her talent and since then her career has been flourishing.

 

She said, “Everybody wanted to make use of my body. Everybody wanted me to play the sexy secretary or the girl that snatched someone’s husband, or the one that snatched the other person’s boyfriend.

 

“But it was Uduak Isong that took a chance on me. She gave me a role different from what I was used to and since then, it has been amazing. People started calling me to come and act this comedy role, come and feature in this and that. It has really been very wonderful since then.”

 

Bimbo Ademoye won Best Actress in Comedy at the 2023 African Magic Viewers Choice Awards, AMVCA. She is known for her comedy skits on YouTube “Iya Barakat Teropi secxxion”

Legendary British actor Maggie Smith, who enjoyed a career of over seven decades in film and theater has passed away at the age of 89.

The news of her passing was confirmed in a statement released by her sons, Chris Larkin and Toby Stephens on Friday.

Idris Elba To Star As Okonkwo In TV Adaptation Of “Things Fall Apart”

British actor Idris Elba has been cast as the lead in a new television adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s classic novel Things Fall Apart.

The series is being produced by American entertainment company A24.

Elba, known for his roles in films like Thor, Pacific Rim, and Beasts of No Nation, will also serve as an executive producer on the project through his 22Summers production company.

The series is still in its early stages, with no writer currently attached and no streaming platform or network confirmed.

The adaptation will bring Achebe’s iconic character, Okonkwo, to life. Okonkwo is a fierce warrior and leader determined to preserve his culture as British colonial forces threaten to upend his world.

Elba will executive produce alongside Gina Carter, David Oyelowo, Amanda N’Duka, Ben Forkner, Dayo Ogunyemi, and Achebe Masterworks. A24 will serve as the studio behind the series.

This will not be the first screen adaptation of Things Fall Apart. A film version was released in 1971, followed by a mini-series in 1987, which starred Nigerian actor Pete Edochie as Okonkwo.

More details about the project, including casting and release dates, are expected to be announced in the coming months.
