Psquare Brothers At War Again Over Royalties

Obi's opponents bad market

Nigerian music duo Psquare, consisting of twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye, are reportedly embroiled in a fresh war, allegedly over the misappropriation of royalties and funds.

According to insider reports, the dispute began when Peter Okoye was approached by a company interested in purchasing the Psquare music catalog. The buyers requested a statement of account for royalties received over the years to determine a fair price for the catalog.

Sources say that Peter, upon waiting weeks for the statement, grew suspicious and began investigating the matter. He allegedly discovered that funds from Northside Entertainment, the company registered by Peter and Paul, had been diverted to a new company called Northside Music, which listed Jude Okoye’s wife Ifeoma as a director. The royalties in question date back to 2007 and are estimated to be worth millions of dollars.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly become involved in the case, and Jude Okoye has allegedly admitted to fund diversion. His accounts, both in Nigeria and internationally, have been frozen pending further investigation.

Paul Okoye has reportedly sided with Jude in the dispute, implicating himself as an accomplice who shared in the diverted funds. It is alleged that the royalties have been split between Jude and Paul, excluding Peter from the arrangement.

The Okoye brothers were spotted at the EFCC office on Thursday, June 6, 2024, and tensions were reportedly high, with the brothers reportedly daring each other to “do their worst.”

Jude Okoye was reportedly detained by the EFCC until his recent birthday, when former NFF President Pinnick signed his bail bond, allowing him to celebrate with his family at home.

As the investigation continues, the future of Psquare remains uncertain. Fans of the popular music duo are left hoping for a resolution that will see the brothers reconcile and continue making music together.
