Sen. Natasha Demands Live Broadcast Of Senate Probe For Transparency
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi Central) has called for her ongoing Senate probe proceedings to be broadcast live, emphasizing the need for transparency in the legislative process.
The senator, who was recently referred to the Senate’s Ethics and Disciplinary Committee following a dispute with Senate President Godswill Akpabio over seating arrangements, stated that while she is prepared to face the panel, she insists the hearings must not be held behind closed doors.

In a statement shared on social media Thursday, Akpoti-Uduaghan revealed she had previously chosen to remain silent on the issue and other matters within the Senate but has now decided to speak out.
She urged Nigerians to pay close attention to the proceedings, stressing her commitment to accountability.
The senator also posted a petition from a group called the Northern Youths Advocacy for Excellence (NOYAD), which called on the Senate to “investigate and discipline” her over allegations of “corruption, breach of trust, and victimization of local content committee staff.”
“This petition came to my notice a few hours ago,” she wrote. “In as much as I have refrained from publicly speaking on the matter and a lot of occurrences at the Senate under Senate President Akpabio, it’s about time I break my silence.”
Akpoti-Uduaghan extended an open invitation to the media, specifically calling on Arise News to interview her on the issue.
“Arise News, set a date and I shall be in your studio in person. Spare no questions,” she declared.
She also reaffirmed her demand for a live broadcast of the Senate probe, calling on Nigerians to witness the proceedings.
“The next few days and weeks shall be interesting but will shape the standard and quality of Nigeria’s leadership,” she concluded.
