Nigerian singer, Inetimi Alfred Timaya Odon, popularly known as Timaya, has publicly condemned the sale of fake alcoholic beverages.

The singer expressed his frustration on his X handle, following an encounter where he was reportedly scammed by a seller of counterfeit alcohol.

In his post, Timaya vented his anger, stating, “It will never be well with people that sell fake alcohol. Amen.” His outburst highlights the ongoing issue of counterfeit products in the market, which pose serious health risks to consumers.

This incident echoes a similar complaint made by singer BNXN, also known as Buju, last December. BNXN had accused a lounge of selling him adulterated and fake alcoholic drinks at the same price as genuine ones. He emphasized the importance of respecting customers’ health and financial expenditure, warning that he would publicly expose such practices if they continued.

Both musicians’ statements shed light on the pressing need for stricter regulations and enforcement to curb the distribution of counterfeit alcohol, ensuring consumer safety and trust in the market.
