Following his assent to a bill for change of Osun State logo, Governor Ademola Adeleke has directed the holding of a logo crafting competition to hold between April 19th and 26th.

According to Gov Adeleke’s directive, those submitting a design are to take into account the prototype logo in terms of its contents and style.

It was gathered that the submission can be made in person both soft and printed copy to the Office of the Commissioner, Ministry of Information and Public Enlightenment.

In addition, entries can also be submitted online via emailus@osunstate.gov.ng or statelogo@osunstate.gov, with bio data and contact details of the designer. The subject should be with the subject “OSUN STATE LOGO”.

The best design will be announced on April 28th and will be unveiled on April 30th during the new edition of Ipade Imole.

Gov Adeleke said, “As a listening leader, I have asked that we open the change of logo to more public input through this one week competition”

The best three designers will be invited and compensated.

The internal wrangling being witnessed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has seen the House of Representatives caucus of the party converge at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.

Biztellers reports that the meeting is coming shortly before a media parley slated for Tuesday (today) by 60 lawmakers loyal to the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

Recall that last week, 60 opposition lawmakers led by the member representing Ideato North/Ideato South Federal Constituency, Imo State, Ikenga Ugochinyere, demanded the resignation of the PDP Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum

The lawmakers led by Hon Ugochinyere based their agitation on alleged incompetence and anti-party activities.

However, barely 24 hours after the Hon Ugochinyere-led group addressed the media, the House minority caucus led by its chairman, Hon Kingsley Chinda, disowned the group, labelling it an unknown body to the parliament.

Details of the ongoing meeting were sketchy at the time of filing this report, feelers indicate that it may not be unconnected with the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party slated for Thursday at the PDP headquarters, where issues ranging from anti-party activities of prominent members as well as the status of Damagum will be on the agenda.

The lawmakers were expected to speak to the media after their meeting.

Amidst political tensions, the All Progressives Congress (APC) ward in Ganduje, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, has made a bold move by suspending its National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.

The suspension was announced by the ward’s legal adviser, Halliru Gwanzo during a press briefing in Kano on Monday.

Gwanzo pointed to allegations of bribery against Ganduje, brought forth by the Kano State Government, as the underlying cause for the suspension.

He said “We decided to suspend Dr. Ganduje from the party due to the seriousness of the allegations against him.”

According to the ward’s APC leaders, the suspension takes effect from Monday, April 15, 2024, and will remain in place until the former governor of the state clears himself of the allegations.

This suspension has thrown the leadership of the APC into uncertainty, potentially carrying broader ramifications for Nigerian politics as the country approaches the 2027 elections.
