22 Year Old Tricycle Rider Rewarded For Returning N15 Million
Anwalu Salisu, A 22-year-old tricycle rider in Kano has displayed remarkable honesty by returning N15 million left behind by a passenger who had traveled from Chad for a shopping trip.
In a generous gesture of gratitude, the man donated the sum of N400,000 to the young man as a token of his appreciation for the remarkable act of honesty and integrity displayed by Salisu.
Salisu’s act of integrity came to light when he heard about the lost money on a local radio station.
He confessed that he hadn’t realized his passenger’s oversight until he had already arrived home, yet he promptly returned the substantial sum.
He explained “I took the man from Badawa to Bata. I went back there after informing my parents. When I reached there, I didn’t meet him and I kept searching.
“I went back home and gave the money to my mother who kept it inside her wardrobe. I was afraid because I was eager to hand over the money back to the owner. I had no intention to touch a penny. it’s not mine, as such prohibited for me.
“I heard the announcement on Arewa Radio, and they gave a number. I called the number and the owner said he will come to our house, but I said no. We should meet at the Radio Station. We met there and I gave him his money.”
Salisu, along with his parents, made it clear that their principles remained steadfast even though they were grappling with hardships at home.
His father said “We barely cook two times in a day, even yesterday we couldn’t cook while the money was with us.”
The owner of the money, speaking through his brother Musa Hassan, expressed profound surprise and gratitude.
He confessed that he had lost faith in the possibility of encountering such honesty in the world, acknowledging that he had given up hope on recovering the money.
He extended heartfelt appreciation to the young man and his parents for instilling the values that led to this honorable act.
“I never thought these kind of boys exists on earth. I had given up already, but I got my money back. Alhamdulillah! I really appreciate him and his parents. They are facing difficulties but they didn’t touch even a penny from my money,” the owner said.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced the successful relocation of eight 132kV and 33kV transmission towers along the Kukwaba/Apo 132kV transmission line, bringing relief to residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
This development, completed three days past the scheduled deadline, has also restored full bulk power to the 132/33kV Apo Transmission Substation, enabling the resumption of normal power distribution in the area.
In a statement signed by Ndidi Mbah, TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, the company explained that the relocation became necessary due to the Federal Capital Development Authority’s (FCDA) road dualization project along the Southern Expressway.

The relocation work began on January 6, 2025, and involved dismantling and reconstructing the affected towers, as well as restringing power cables to ensure uninterrupted power flow.
To facilitate this, a planned power outage was implemented from January 6 to January 20, 2025, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily.
“The Transmission Company of Nigeria is pleased to announce the restoration of full bulk power to its 132/33kV Apo Transmission Substation, effective Thursday, January 23, 2025,” the statement read.
“This restoration follows the successful relocation of eight 132kV and 33kV towers along the Kukwaba/Apo 132kV line (Southern Expressway route), necessitated by the Federal Capital Development Agency’s road dualization project along the Apo axis.”
TCN thanked residents and electricity consumers for their patience during the period of power rationing, noting that Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) can now resume normal electricity supply to customers in the affected areas.

“I was just looking at the numbers of people surrounding Davido the day I sat with him, I was just seeing how people were ready to be killed just to get to him. He is an elder. Davido’s father is a billionaire that has been doing big things before the singer’s arrival. His father is rich but not as Davido. If his dad is passing by, you might not recognise him, but if Davido passes here, a stampede will happen.”
