"I became a 2nd class citizen immediately my marriage failed" - Iyabo Ojo

 

Popular Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has opened up about her difficult experiences as a single mother.

According to her, she was treated like a second-class citizen due to her failed marriage.

Taking to her official Instagram account on Sunday the actress recounted how most Nigerians criticized her.

She expressed her gratitude to God for her life and the hurdles she conquered, declaring that she would never stop thanking God for her life and the challenges she overcame.

Even when she attempts to share her tale, others characterize her as having no morals, not qualified to be a model, chatty, and a clout chaser, according to Iyabo Ojo.

Because of her failed marriage, she claims she was treated as a second-class citizen.

In her words: “Who am I that I am not mindful of your blessings, I’m never going to stop appreciating you Lord, I’m never going to stop thanking you lord🙏.

“This world most especially this country Nigeria, i was treated so unjustly bcos of my circumstance and the choices i made to better the life of my children.

“I became a 2nd class citizen immediately my marriage failed, a trillion times the hate, the bullies, the curses, the unapologetic horrible rejections, it was massive from my society, my people, my country, being a single mom was like living in a foreign land with no papers, thanks to the media, writing and creating a false narrative about me just worsened everything, the word prostitute became my 👑

“choosing an acting career was like finding yourself in a crime scene you had no business being there, it became a confirmation that i was irresponsible, a whore & fame was the reason why I left my marriage 🤔

“Acting in my language (Yoruba) o my world!!!!!! made matters worse, i was tagged local & unworthy to associate with the so-called elite, it was a big deal then, even when i spoke the little English i understood, people couldn’t hide their shock 🤣 even till this day, we’re underrated, yeyebrity is our nickname 🤣.

Gas Explosion in Katsina Filling Station Damages Six Vehicles

A gas cylinder explosion at a filling station in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State has resulted in significant damage to six vehicles, according to a statement from the Katsina State Police Command.

The command’s spokesperson, Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, confirmed the incident, which occurred on Friday, November 15, 2024.

He explained that a loud explosion alerted police operatives from the Jibia Divisional Police Headquarters. Responding promptly, the Divisional Police Officer led a team to the site, supported by military personnel.

“Upon arrival, operatives found a truck loaded with gas cylinders engulfed in flames at Tamal filling station, along Kagadama-Magamar Jibia Road,” Sadiq-Aliyu stated. The joint team acted swiftly, deploying measures to protect lives and limit property damage. Their efforts successfully extinguished the fire.

The spokesperson added, “Six motor vehicles were significantly affected by the fire incident, but fortunately, no life was lost.”

State Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Abubakar-Musa, has directed a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the explosion. Updates on the findings will be provided as investigations progress.

This incident highlights the need for heightened safety measures at gas filling stations to prevent such occurrences.
