Nigerians knock clerics praying at Bobrisky’s housewarming
A viral video on social media depicted Muslim clerics praying at the housewarming ceremony of controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky.
Bobrisky was seated and fully dressed in female Yoruba traditional attire in the video from the event on Sunday, surrounded by Muslim clerics who sat on the floor and offered Islamic prayers.
The video drew criticism from Twitter users who criticized the presence of clerics at the crossdresser’s event.
A tweep, @ola_bode20, said, “How will those Alfas address Bobrisky? Hajia Idris or Alhaji wa Idris? Because they will have to mention a name.”

“Clerics praying for Bobrisky on house warming. In this country just make money, then all cases are automatically settled,” @leymiispito said.
Another tweep, @tee_classiquem1, pointed out, “Religion leaders are forfeiting the words of God for the sake of money. How can Alfas and Chief Imam that a whole community is looking up to attend Bobrisky house warming party? Is this not like endorsing cross-dressing under Islam? This is so embarrassing to watch.”
“Alfa rallied around Bobrisky, praying for her. They don’t know he is a boy turned girl? Double standard everywhere,” @unclefemi_ fumed.
@okinbakare tweeted, “All this useless Alfa make them see good ones finish, hunger no make them talk truth, can they ask if Bobrisky is she or he so they can know how to talk or pray for her/him?

Gas Explosion in Katsina Filling Station Damages Six Vehicles
A gas cylinder explosion at a filling station in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State has resulted in significant damage to six vehicles, according to a statement from the Katsina State Police Command.
The command’s spokesperson, Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, confirmed the incident, which occurred on Friday, November 15, 2024.
He explained that a loud explosion alerted police operatives from the Jibia Divisional Police Headquarters. Responding promptly, the Divisional Police Officer led a team to the site, supported by military personnel.

“Upon arrival, operatives found a truck loaded with gas cylinders engulfed in flames at Tamal filling station, along Kagadama-Magamar Jibia Road,” Sadiq-Aliyu stated. The joint team acted swiftly, deploying measures to protect lives and limit property damage. Their efforts successfully extinguished the fire.
The spokesperson added, “Six motor vehicles were significantly affected by the fire incident, but fortunately, no life was lost.”
State Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Abubakar-Musa, has directed a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the explosion. Updates on the findings will be provided as investigations progress.
This incident highlights the need for heightened safety measures at gas filling stations to prevent such occurrences.
