On Sunday, during a town hall meeting in Lagos State, Titi Abubakar, wife of Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate, addressed the crowd and urged them to use the upcoming election as an opportunity to put an end to the one-party rule in the state.

As a native of Lagos, she emphasized the importance of fighting for a better future for the state and for the children.

Titi also praised her husband as a unifying figure and a former Vice President, who has the experience necessary to fix the country. “One party has been ruling this state for too long, we’ve been in bondage for too long, it’s time to fight for ourselves and our children,”

“It’s time for a change. We’ve had enough. My husband, Atiku, has made a commitment to the Nigerian people. He has pledged to dedicate his life to serving the country, as Nigeria has given him so much,” she said.

She further outlined her husband’s five key agendas: unifying Nigeria, putting an end to insecurity, restructuring the country, improving education for all including parents, children and people with disabilities.

She emphasized that these agendas are dependent on the support and participation of the citizens.

The PDP governorship candidate for Lagos State, Abdul-Azeez Adediran, also known as Jandor, expressed his belief that the main opposition party, PDP, will defeat the ruling party, APC, at both the central and state levels.

He stated that the PDP has been gaining support by visiting and speaking with the people, ward by ward, and that they believe in the promise of a better future for the citizens of Lagos.

“This will be the very first time we will defeat the APC. We have been going to the people from ward to ward. In Lagos, we believe in the promise of better tomorrow for the people,” Adediran said.

Dr Abimbola Ogunkelu, PDP chieftain also spoke at the meeting and said, “We will not let our mandate be stolen in Lagos State, the time has come for change. If the PDP emerges victorious, we will reform all the wrongs.” He expressed his confidence in the party’s ability to bring about positive change if elected in the state.
