Terem Moffi, Frank Onyeka, and Moses Simon secured a 3-2 victory for Nigeria over a 10-man Mozambique in an international friendly in Portimäo, Portugal on Monday.

This win marked the Super Eagles’ first victory in a friendly match in 55 months, with their last triumph dating back to March 2019 against Egypt at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, where Paul Onuachu’s first-minute goal sealed the victory.

The Mambas took an early lead with a surprise goal six minutes in when Catamo skillfully maneuvered the ball past goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, who had anticipated a different direction.

Terem Moffi, a striker based in France, leveled the score in the 19th minute, capitalizing on Mozambican defenders throwing themselves at every shot in their penalty area.

Nigeria gained the lead in the 30th minute as midfielder Frank Onyeka’s well-placed shot from the edge of the box found the net without obstruction.

The Super Eagles, embracing the battlecry “Let’s Do It Again” in their pursuit of a fourth Africa Cup of Nations title in Cote d’Ivoire next year, asserted dominance.

Moses Simon, showcasing his prowess, sealed a third goal from the penalty spot during added time in the first period.
