GWR: ‘I Remain A Record Holder …’. – Hilda Baci

Published

on

I Keep Checking My Email For GWR Response – Hilda Baci Record-breaking Hilda Baci, a cook from Nigeria, claimed that she frequently checks her email in hopes of receiving a confirmation from Guinness World Records. Recall In an effort to beat Indian chef Lata Tondon's previous record, Baci started the cooking marathon. After cooking for 100 hours and 40 minutes, Baci beat the Tondon record of 87 hours and 40 minutes. She hasn't yet received formal recognition from Guinness World Records as the new record breaker, though. They contend that before formally verifying a record, they must first carefully examine all the available evidence. Baci claimed in a tweet on Thursday that she has been checking her email frequently in order to get Guinness World Records' most recent response. She tweeted, “Not me refreshing my email every second since we submitted all the evidence to Guinness World Records”.

Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci affirmed that even though she was surpassed by Irish chef, Alan Fisher in the “longest cooking marathon (individual)” category, she still considers herself a Guinness World Record (GWR) holder both in spirit and history.

She made the assertion in response to fans who were curious about her removal of the “Guinness World Record holder” from her social media bio.

Taking to her X handle, the Akwa-Ibom-born chef explained that she updated her bio just as her predecessor “respectfully acknowledged” her as the new record holder by updating her bio.

She added that she admired the hard work of her successor, Fisher, who cooked nonstop for an astonishing 119 hours and 57 minutes, surpassing her record by more than 24 hours.

Baci wrote, “Just as Chef Lata respectfully acknowledged the new record holder by updating her bio and later fine-tuning the wording, I’ve adjusted mine, too.

“Achieving such a record is no small feat, and I know this firsthand. I have only the greatest admiration for the hard work it took for Alan to reach such heights.

“Sportsmanship is about recognizing progress, whether the accolade is in my bio or not. I remain a record holder in spirit and in history. Let’s celebrate achievement and the spirit of competition.”
