Tinubu Restructures Media Team, Announces Three-Person Spokesperson Model
President Bola Tinubu has unveiled a collective spokesperson model for the Presidency, designating three Special Advisers to jointly handle government communications in a move aimed at enhancing efficiency and ensuring consistency in conveying policies.

Sunday Dare, previously designated as Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation, has been re-assigned as Special Adviser, Media and Public Communications.
Daniel Bwala, who was recently appointed as Special Adviser, Media and Public Communication, will now serve as Special Adviser, Policy Communication.
Onanuga, whose role as Special Adviser on Information and Strategy remains unchanged, revealed that the trio will function as a unified team of spokespersons under a collaborative framework.
“These appointments underscore that there is no single individual spokesperson for the Presidency. Instead, all three Special Advisers will collectively serve as spokespersons for the government,” Onanuga stated.
Onanuga also highlighted the President’s commitment to fostering transparency and trust through an efficient media team, noting that the new model aims to enhance engagement with the public, media, and other stakeholders.
The changes follow the departure of Ajuri Ngelale, who served as Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity until September 2024.
Ngelale stepped away from the role indefinitely due to family medical concerns, with President Tinubu fully supporting his decision.
Sunday Dare and Daniel Bwala initially stepped into separate advisory roles after Ngelale’s departure.
However, under the latest restructuring, their responsibilities have been redefined, enabling them to work alongside Onanuga as part of a unified communication strategy.

“By collaborating with international partners, Nigeria aims to leverage best practices, innovative solutions, and financial support to enhance its efforts to combat poverty and hunger,” Tinubu said, reaffirming Nigeria’s position as a key player in global sustainable development efforts.
