APM Gubernatorial Candidate For Bauchi State Withdraws From Election, Joins PDP
Auwal Isah, the Allied People Movement’s (APM) candidate for governor of Bauchi State, has withdrawn from the race and joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Isah’s decision to switch parties also extends to his supporters. This move effectively ends his pursuit of becoming the governor of Bauchi State in the upcoming March election.
In addition to announcing his defection in Darazo, Isah also declared his support and loyalty to the re-election campaign of current Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of the PDP.
Isah explained that his decision to withdraw from the race and support Governor Mohammed’s re-election campaign was driven by his desire to see Bauchi State continue to progress.
He cited the governor’s numerous and impactful development projects, such as water, roads, healthcare, schools, and electricity, as evidence of the progress being made and his reasoning to join the PDP.
He also added that the visible impact of the governor’s project across the state is the major reason behind their resolve to collapse their party structure and support the PDP.
Furthermore, Amina Manga, the national woman leader for the North East region of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Hajiya Zulaihat Darazo, the Bauchi Central women leader of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) also announced their defection to the PDP, citing the priority given to women by the governor as their reason for joining.
They believe that the governor’s administration has been very supportive of women and they want to be a part of the team that will help to continue this progress.
