Renowned Nigerian musician, David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reached an agreement to resolve the breach of contract lawsuit brought against him by the former President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick-led Brownhill Investment Company Limited, at the High Court of Delta State, Effurun.

The talented singer has opted to settle the dispute outside the courtroom. As part of the consent judgment entered in the N2 billion lawsuit, Davido has committed to paying N30 million to the claimant, serving as partial compensation for the claimant’s outstanding legal fees within seven days of executing the settlement terms.

In the lawsuit, filed under suit number EHC/183/2023, the claimant, represented by lawyer Kelechi Onwuegbuchulem, sought N2 billion in general damages from Davido. Additionally, the claimant requested N150 million for legal and professional fees, along with an extra N30 million to cover the costs of filing the suit.

The defendants named in the lawsuit include David Adeleke, also known as “Davido,” and his music label, Davido Music Worldwide Limited.

Following extensive discussions and negotiations aimed at resolving the matter amicably, both parties have mutually agreed to perform at the upcoming “Warri Again Concert” edition scheduled for October 4, 2024.

As part of the consent judgment, it was decided that the $94,500 previously paid by the claimant to the defendants will be considered towards Davido’s performance fee at the event.

Nigerian music stars Kizz Daniel and Tekno were caught in a public feud after allegations surfaced on social media claiming that Kizz Daniel had been sharing profits from their hit song “Buga” with Tekno.

The controversy stemmed from a post by an undisclosed account alleging statements made by Tekno in an interview regarding his collaboration with Kizz Daniel.

The post, dated April 14, read, “I got on Kizz Daniel’s Buga with no sort of legal agreement. I wasn’t expecting anything from him. Wanted to be silent about this but I think some levels of gratitude deserve to be spoken of.”

“Do y’all know Kizz Daniel sends me 50% of every revenue he generates from that song? After his buga tour he sent me close to a billion naira and I was already shocked enough by that move.

“He didn’t end just there. Every month, I receive millions as my own share of the revenue generated by Buga on streaming platforms… Kizz is a great guy I can’t lie” ~ Tekno Reveals…”

In response to the post on the same day, Tekno swiftly refuted the claims, stating, “Him money no reach. anybody wey put out that fake interview, thunder fire your mama…”

According to BIZTELLERS, this unfolding drama coincides with an ongoing online feud between music icons Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun, and Davido, also known as David Adedeji, which escalated Monday night.

Wizkid had previously made a subtle jab at Davido. In response to a fan’s inquiry on X for new music, Wizkid shared a leaked video purportedly showing Davido in a vulnerable moment, allegedly pleading with a female associate.

Additionally, the Grammy award-winning artist dismissed Don Jazzy, a highly successful music producer and label owner, labeling him merely as an ‘influencer’.

The public feud between these two music titans has reverberated throughout the Nigerian entertainment sphere and beyond, eliciting reactions from fans and observers alike, who have been quick to comment and pledge support for their preferred artist.
