Fulham midfielder, Alex Iwobi has expanded his creative pursuits, releasing a second single titled “What’s Luv?”.

This follows the success of his debut track “Don’t Shoot”, marking Iwobi as the first Premier League footballer to enter the music scene with his name and face attached to his music.

Known for his skill on the pitch with over 260 top-flight appearances, Iwobi is now sharing his off-field passion with fans and listeners.

“Music has always been a passion of mine,” Iwobi shared. “It’s a way for me to express myself away from football. Music is a great tool, and I’ve always used it as a productive way to share how I feel.”

Iwobi, who grew up in a challenging area of London, said he wants his music to inspire young people to focus on positive goals, showing them they don’t need to fit into one mold. Through his community work and his creative projects, Iwobi aims to provide a message of resilience and self-expression.

“Growing up, I know how hard it can be,” he said. “Alongside the work we do in the community, I hope that my music shows young people they can pursue different passions. Creating music doesn’t take anything away from my football; it actually helps me switch off.”

With “What’s Luv?”, Iwobi continues to encourage a positive narrative for youth, using his platform as both a Premier League player and a musician to inspire others to follow their dreams and make productive choices.

“The Sound City presenter even confronted me at Club Rumours one time boasting that he was the one that ordered presenters at his station not to play my songs because I was mimicking 2Face.

“The event planner at Festac Carnival insisted that I won’t perform because I look like their King 2Face. The same thing happened when I went for an interview at Cool FM; the presenter said he can’t interview someone who imitates 2Face.

“I complained to my mum and my record label boss, Baba Keke but they urged to be calm. Sometimes, when I try to pay homage to 2Face when we meet in public, some of his team members will block me.”

Joe El shared that people began to embrace his music after collaborating with 2Baba on the song ‘Hold On’ in 2015.

Explaining his departure from Kennis Music after 12 years, he simply stated, “The contract was over.”
