EPL: Everton vs Liverpool Clash Called Off Due To Storm Warnings
The much-anticipated Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool, scheduled for 12:30 GMT on Saturday (today), has been postponed due to severe weather conditions caused by Storm Darragh.
An emergency Safety Advisory Group meeting was held at Goodison Park on Saturday morning, involving both clubs, Merseyside Police, and Liverpool City Council.
Officials concluded the match could not proceed safely due to strong winds and an amber severe wind warning in effect until Sunday morning.

The decision to postpone was taken to prioritize safety, as high winds and travel disruptions across Merseyside posed significant risks to fans, players, and staff.
Everton issued a statement apologizing to fans stating, “We understand this will be disappointing for supporters but the safety of everyone involved is our priority. Tickets for the original fixture will remain valid for the rearranged date, which will be announced in due course.”
Liverpool echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the impact of the severe weather:
“This decision was made with safety in mind, as gale-force winds have caused significant travel disruption across Merseyside.”
Storm Darragh has caused chaos across the region, with dangerous winds disrupting transportation and forcing the cancellation of other sporting events, including rugby and horse racing.
Merseyside Police have advised against all non-essential travel until the weather warning lifts on Sunday morning.
The postponement also delays a historic moment, as this was set to be the last Merseyside derby at Goodison Park before Everton relocates to their new stadium.
A new date for the fixture will be announced soon, and fans are advised to retain their tickets for the rescheduled match.
Fantasy Premier League managers will need to adjust accordingly, as the game week 14 deadline remains unchanged at 11:00 GMT on Saturday.
