Falana, Falz Demand Bobrisky Apologize, Retract Defamatory Claims Within 12hrs

In a growing legal controversy, renowned human rights lawyer Femi Falana and his son, rapper Folarin Falana (known as Falz), have issued a stern demand for a public apology from popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky.

The demand follows the circulation of audio recordings containing what the Falanas describe as defamatory statements made by Bobrisky.

The controversy erupted after audios, shared by controversial media personality Martin Otse (alias VeryDarkMan), were posted online.

In the recordings, Bobrisky alleged that he had contacted Falz, asking for his help to persuade his father to secure a presidential pardon.

This pardon, Bobrisky claimed, would cost N10 million.

Further, Bobrisky stated he had asked Falz for N3 million to obtain special treatment at Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

In a separate audio, Bobrisky claimed that he had paid N5 million upfront to a Senior Advocate of Nigeria to help secure the pardon in question, which was linked to charges filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

These claims, however, have been strongly refuted by the Falanas.

In a letter dated October 14, 2024, and signed by their legal representatives, Olorunfemi Akinyemi and Taiwo E. Olawanle, the allegations were dismissed as baseless and damaging to their reputations.

The letter, seen by our correspondent, demanded a full retraction of the statements and a public apology on all platforms where the defamatory content was shared.

The legal team emphasized the seriousness of the allegations, stating that Bobrisky’s remarks had caused significant harm to Falana’s reputation as a respected lawyer and human rights advocate.

The Falanas have vowed to pursue legal action if the apology and retraction are not made promptly.

The letter read, “We are Counsel to Mr. Femi Falana SAN and Mr. Folarin Falana aka Falz (hereinafter referred to as ‘our clients’), on whose behalf we write this letter regarding your slanderous statements against them.

“We have confirmed that you took advantage of your recent imprisonment to extort money from a group of artists and other members of the public.

“You will recall that on 4 May 2024, you called Mr. Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, and requested N3,000,000 (Three Million Naira) to secure special treatment at Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

“Although Falz refused your request, you falsely claimed in a video that he told you his father, our client, had agreed to write a letter of pardon for you. You also stated that our client had spoken with you and that N10,000,000 (Ten Million Naira) was required to bribe officials to process your pardon.”

“In another video, you claimed to have paid N5,000,000 (Five Million Naira) upfront to a Senior Advocate of Nigeria to secure a Federal Government pardon over charges filed against you by the EFCC.

“You further alleged that the Senior Advocate initially requested N10,000,000 (Ten Million Naira) for his legal services but, due to your frozen account, you could not raise the full amount.

“In fact, you have published a list of individuals who believed your fabricated story and contributed millions of naira, supposedly to pay our client to write a letter of pardon and bribe public officers on your behalf.

“Your decision to involve our client in your criminal activities was purely a figment of your imagination. Contrary to your baseless claims, you never instructed our client to write a letter of pardon for you.” It added

Breaking: Electricity workers suspend strike for two weeks

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced the successful relocation of eight 132kV and 33kV transmission towers along the Kukwaba/Apo 132kV transmission line, bringing relief to residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

This development, completed three days past the scheduled deadline, has also restored full bulk power to the 132/33kV Apo Transmission Substation, enabling the resumption of normal power distribution in the area.

In a statement signed by Ndidi Mbah, TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, the company explained that the relocation became necessary due to the Federal Capital Development Authority’s (FCDA) road dualization project along the Southern Expressway.

The relocation work began on January 6, 2025, and involved dismantling and reconstructing the affected towers, as well as restringing power cables to ensure uninterrupted power flow.

To facilitate this, a planned power outage was implemented from January 6 to January 20, 2025, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily.

“The Transmission Company of Nigeria is pleased to announce the restoration of full bulk power to its 132/33kV Apo Transmission Substation, effective Thursday, January 23, 2025,” the statement read.

“This restoration follows the successful relocation of eight 132kV and 33kV towers along the Kukwaba/Apo 132kV line (Southern Expressway route), necessitated by the Federal Capital Development Agency’s road dualization project along the Apo axis.”

TCN thanked residents and electricity consumers for their patience during the period of power rationing, noting that Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) can now resume normal electricity supply to customers in the affected areas.

Davido Is Richer Than His Billionaire Father – Ibrahim Chatta Claims

Published

on

Renowned Nollywood actor, Ibrahim Chatta, has sparked conversation by claiming that award-winning singer Davido is richer and more influential than his billionaire father, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke.

Chatta made this statement while addressing the importance of respecting individuals in positions of authority, regardless of their age. He argued that accomplishments, not age, determine who an elder is. Using historical references, Chatta cited Alexander the Great, who achieved incredible feats before his death at 33, as an example of youthful greatness.

“God purposely placed some certain people in some positions, but you guys are looking at their age. It’s not about the age; any younger person that possesses things that belong to elders, is an elder,” Chatta said.

The actor emphasized that Davido’s wealth and influence surpass those of his father, despite Dr. Adeleke’s established status as a billionaire. Chatta highlighted the global recognition and adoration Davido commands, describing the singer as someone who garners immense loyalty and admiration.

“I was just looking at the numbers of people surrounding Davido the day I sat with him, I was just seeing how people were ready to be killed just to get to him. He is an elder. Davido’s father is a billionaire that has been doing big things before the singer’s arrival. His father is rich but not as Davido. If his dad is passing by, you might not recognise him, but if Davido passes here, a stampede will happen.”

Chatta’s remarks have stirred reactions across social media, with many debating whether fame and influence should outweigh wealth in defining success.
