Mixed Reactions as Davido loses another friend

There has been a surge of reactions as Award winning Nigeria artist, David Adeleke also known as Davido lost another close friend identified as Tommy.

The Afrobeats star, who is devastated by this terrible situation, shared a video on his Instagram account showing him wishing his late friend Tommy a happy birthday in the past.

The singer included a heartbreak emoji in the post and wrote, “Tommy why?”

Tommy’s death has stirred reactions as he had shared some posts via his Instastory hours ago.

As of the time of this report, there are no official statements on the cause of Tommy’s death.

However, a lot of people have questioned Davido for constantly documenting the passing of his friends.

Remember how the crooner mourned some old friends which generated controversies for him in the past.

Here are Davido’s friends who have died over the space of 5 years:

  1. DJ Olu

Olugbenga Abiodun better known as DJ Olu was a DJ in DMW crew until his death in 2017.

He was found dead alongside another Davido’s friend, Chime Amaechi in a BMW car parked at a garage on Banana Island, Lagos

  1. Chime Amaechi

He is another of Davido’s close friends, and he went to the afterlife with DJ Olu.

They both passed away on the same day, their mouths and noses bleeding.

According to police sources, both of them might have died as a result of excessive intake of hard drug substances.

 

  1. Tagbo Umeike

Tagbugbo Umeike lost his life in 2017, and was laid to rest in his hometown in Nnewi, Anambra state.

Tagbo‘s death caused a whole lots of controversies and drama for Davido.

Reports had it that Tagbo died after taking 10 Tequila shots on his brithday.

Also, An autopsy carried out on the deceased revealed that he had died of excessive alcohol consumption

In May 2021, former Davido’s aide Aloma who was present the day Tagbo died revealed that he was offer N100M to indict Davido over his friend’s death.

 

  1. Ahmed (King Jhaffi)

In 2020, the DMW camp recorded the death of King Jhaffi.

King Jhaffi who is also known as Ahmed is a member of Davido’s crew who reportedly died after a brief illness.

Davido announced Ahmed’s death with tears in his eyes.

Even though the cause of his death cannot be ascertained, it is visible to the blind that this is a painful loss for OBO.

  1. Tijani Olamilekan Ogbeide

Davido‘s personal bodyguard Ogbeide Tijani Olamilekan also known as TeejayDMW reportedly passed away on Tuesday 8, December 2020.

Tijani’s death comes within a short space after king Jhaffi’s death.

Although the cause of death still unknown but it is largely speculated that Davido’s bodyguard died of complications from a longtime battle with Diabetes.

6 Habeeb Uthman (Obama DMW)

Obama DMW died on Tuesday, June 29, after he reportedly drove himself to a Lagos hospital to complain of breathing difficulty.

Obama DMW whose real name is Habeeb Uthman, until his death, was a leading Nigerian entertainment executive and artiste manager.

He was highly affiliated with the Davido Music Worldwide family and 30 Billion Gang.

According to sources, he died of suspected respiratory failure.

Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has sparked fresh reactions online after revealing that she burnt the outfit she wore to the burial of late actor Alex Ekubo, following advice from her godmother.

The actress made the disclosure via her Instagram page, where she explained that she was instructed not to keep clothes worn to funeral ceremonies, describing it as a traditional belief passed down through her family.

According to her, the advice came from her godmother, who insisted that clothing worn to burials should be discarded or burnt after the event.

“This is the outfit I wore to Alex’s burial. My Godmother said it is not good to have the cloth you wore to a burial around you; you burn them. So family and friends take note. I felt I should share this information. May the Lord keep and bless us with long life. Amen,” she wrote.

“I love how they dress. Because I am meticulous and very neat, I just loved how clean the priests and Reverend Sisters were. Literally, that was it,” she explained.

The actress also addressed the criticism that followed a previous photoshoot in which she dressed as a Reverend Sister, a move that generated widespread reactions on social media.

Beverly maintained that the photoshoot was purely artistic and not intended to offend anyone, stressing that many people misunderstood the concept behind it.

“I grew up in a very Catholic-oriented home. This is not just being Catholic in Africa, far and wide. People just read meaning to it. Nigerians just like to talk. It wasn’t a big deal. It was just arty,” she said.
