‘Nnamdi Kanu’s Rendition, Act of Terrorism’

The way embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu was forcefully brought back to Nigeria to face trial, has been described as an act of terrorism.
This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by Kanu’s Lead Counsel, Ifeanyi Ejiofor.
According to Ejiofor, the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, together with all the key actors in the extradition and rendition of Kanu are guilty of terrorism.

His position is that the AGF and his co-travellers deliberately violated extant Nigerian and international laws. He pointed at the way Kanu was bundled back to Nigeria and way his trial and detention has been proceeding as issues that made it clear that the state actors were indulging in terrorism, in the instant matter.
In the statement, Ejiofor maintained that, “The Honourable Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), is aware of the existence of this Nigerian Extradition Act, Cap E25, Laws of the Federation 2004, particularly the compelling provision of Section 15 of this Extradition Act.
“Yet, he proceeded on a gross violation of this law, to participate in the criminal abduction of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, from Kenya, and extraordinarily renditioned him to Nigeria, instead of subjecting him to this extradition proceedings as also mutually provided under Kenyan laws.”
He pointed out there AGF and his men were applying different standards on similar matters of law enforcement, citing the case of the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Abba Kyari.
According to Ejiofor, Kanu and Kyari are being treated differendlty, though both are subjected to extradition proceedings before a court of law.
“Pertinent to note that this same AGF also subjected the disgraced and suspended ACP Abba Kyari, to the same extradition proceedings before the Nigerian Court.
“So why was Nnamdi Kanu not afforded the same opportunity before he was forcefully renditioned to Nigeria?
“The law is now settled that the Attorney General of the Federation and his accomplices, committed an act of terrorism under their own very law, for the manner in which they violated international laws with impunity in the forceful abduction and rendition of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to Nigeria.
“It is to be noted also that, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, is by virtue of the provisions of another Nigerian Law under Section 2(3)(f) of the Terrorism Prevention (Amendment and Prohibition) Act, 2022, a victim of terrorism. Abubakar Malami SAN is equally aware of the provisions of this law.
“In a saner and civil society, the Attorney General of the Federation and his accomplices would be in the prison cooling off, for their flagrant violation of the Nigerian laws which constitute an act of terrorism. However, and most unfortunately, we are in a country of ‘anyhowness,’ where anything goes.
“Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s freedom is sacrosanct and the hour has come, no going back,” he added.
Another video depicting a separate case of bullying at the Lead British International School, Abuja has emerged.
In the new video posted on Tuesday, some male students in the school’s uniform are seen surrounding another boy who appears to be in casual attire.
A student slapped the boy who was on his knees, and then some of the other boys who are gathered appealed to stop the ‘bully’ from further harming the boy, who was later whisked away in the nine-second video.
An X user, @PopoolaJoke4, who posted the video wrote, “No be the same school?”
This is in response to the first viral video of bullying in the same school that was released earlier.
Biztellers reports that An X user, @moooyeeeee, had on Monday night posted two videos of a female student of the school being repeatedly slapped by another female classmate.
The user called for justice for the victim.
Many users of the microblogging platform have expressed their anger after seeing the footage, condemning the act and calling on the school authorities to look into and punish those responsible.
But in a statement released on Tuesday, the administration of Lead British International School, Abuja, claimed to have started an investigation.
The administration of Lead British International School in Abuja has said that it has started looking into the viral video that purports to show one of its pupils getting repeatedly smacked by a classmate.
The school declared that it was taking the issue seriously and that it was very worried.
According to Legit News, LBIS has an annual school fee of N1.5 million, making it one of the most costly institutions in Nigeria.

Since they were posted, the videos have drawn the wrath of many users of the microblogging platform who condemned the incident and called for the school authorities to investigate and punish the culprits.
One of those that reacted posted a screenshot where it was alleged the school has been treating bullying, which it said has been reoccurring, with kid gloves.
The untitled screenshot cited the case of another student who cut his classmate with knife but was only suspended for two days.
Reacting to the allegations in a statement on Tuesday and signed by Head of School, Abuja, Abraham Ogunkanbi, the school said that it has initiated a panel of inquiry that has started working on all evidences to get the full scope of the incident.
“We will be working with the perpetrators and their families, offering counselling and disciplinary measures to address their behaviour which has no place in society.
“We have also immediately initiated an investigation, appointing a dedicated team to conduct a thorough inquiry into the matter, The team has been gathering information, including reviewing video footages and interviewing witnesses, to understand the full scope of the incident and identify the immediate and remote causes,” the statement posted on LBIS, Abuja Instagram’s page read.
Also, the school assured all of reaching out to the parents of the victim and offering her support while vowing to punish the culprits.
“We are committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for all our students.
“Hence, upon learning of the incident which, we initiated the process of reaching out to the victimand family with a view to providing support, including access to counseling services to help.
“Additionally, we will be working with the perpetrators and their families, offering counselling and disciplinary measures to address their behaviour which has no place in society,” the statement added.
To forestall future occurrence, the management said it would review its extent Anti-Bullying policies while also promising to raise bullying awareness amongst its students and staff.
“In line with our commitment to preventing bullying and ensuring a safe school environment, we will be reviewing and updating our extant Anti-Bullying Policies and procedures to determine
areas requiring improvement, with a focus on prevention and early intervention.
“LBIS will also be implementing educational programmes and workshops for students, staff, and parents to raise awareness about bullying and its consequences,” it stated.
Within the Charterhouse Lagos a recently opened elementary school in Lekki that charges N42 million yearly for its secondary education.
As the first British independent school in West Africa, Charterhouse Lagos is a member of the esteemed Charterhouse network of educational institutions.
