Rapper Ikechukwu laments over death of wife's cousin in his boarding school

 

Ikechukwu, a well-known Nigerian rapper, has expressed his sorrow over the death of his wife’s cousin, Obinna, who was discovered dead at 1 a.m. in a boarding school in Imo State.

The school’s stories about the cause of the boy’s death, according to the rapper who also appeared in Mo Abudu’s blockbuster film The Wedding Party, had too many holes in them.

Ikechukwu posted on his verified Instagram profile after sharing a video of the 14-year-old boy, hr wrote, “This is so so sad. This is Obinna, 14 years of age , my inlaw , cousin to my wife. This footage is of him at my wedding. He was found at 1am dead in his boarding house of his school. Class – SS2, in senior hostel, Queen of the holy innocent secondary School ogwume in Ideato lga. Beaten up , bruised.

“So many holes in this story. And frankly I’m sick of these happenings. Now it has come to my doorstep. I urge every media portal to help bring light to the happenings surrounding this event and every other event concerning these children who we confidently give to schools to look after.

This is outrageous. No child should have to die, talkless of in this manner where they are supposed to be safe and cared for. I implore all media and bloggers to please help pursue this to the end. MAY HIS SOUL FINALLY REST IN PEACE.

Recall that 12-year-old Dowen College boy, Sylvester Oromoni also died from injuries sustained in an attack by five senior pupils at the school for allegedly refusing to join their cult a few months ago.

After efforts to save his life failed, the 12-year-old kid died on November 30, 2021.

Dowen College disregarded his father’s assertion that his child had been beaten and given a liquid chemical.

According to the school, the youngster was injured while playing football with his classmates.

The approval was contained in a Legal Advice issued by Ms. Adetutu Oshinusi, Director of Public Prosecution, Lagos State.

Gas Explosion in Katsina Filling Station Damages Six Vehicles

A gas cylinder explosion at a filling station in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State has resulted in significant damage to six vehicles, according to a statement from the Katsina State Police Command.

The command’s spokesperson, Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, confirmed the incident, which occurred on Friday, November 15, 2024.

He explained that a loud explosion alerted police operatives from the Jibia Divisional Police Headquarters. Responding promptly, the Divisional Police Officer led a team to the site, supported by military personnel.

“Upon arrival, operatives found a truck loaded with gas cylinders engulfed in flames at Tamal filling station, along Kagadama-Magamar Jibia Road,” Sadiq-Aliyu stated. The joint team acted swiftly, deploying measures to protect lives and limit property damage. Their efforts successfully extinguished the fire.

The spokesperson added, “Six motor vehicles were significantly affected by the fire incident, but fortunately, no life was lost.”

State Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Abubakar-Musa, has directed a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the explosion. Updates on the findings will be provided as investigations progress.

This incident highlights the need for heightened safety measures at gas filling stations to prevent such occurrences.
