‘They Beat Me Like a Criminal’ — Ex-BBN Housemate Opens Up On NDLEA Nightclub Raid Ordeal
Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tuoyo Ideh, has accused operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) of assaulting him during a raid at Proxy Nightclub in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Tuoyo, who shared his ordeal in a video posted on his Instagram page on Monday night, alleged that NDLEA officers — accompanied by military personnel — brutalised and humiliated him despite finding no incriminating substance on him.
According to the reality TV star, he was at the club on Saturday, October 26, in his capacity as a promoter when the operatives stormed the venue in the early hours of the morning.

“All I heard was, ‘Everybody go down!’ I saw men in black and military personnel. They searched me, my bag, even my socks, but found nothing,” Tuoyo recounted. “They made us sit on the floor for hours, and when I tried to speak, one of them pointed me out, and five officers rushed at me.”
He alleged that the officers slapped, kicked, and beat him with sticks, accusing him of posting about the raid on social media.
“One of them said, ‘Na you go post abi? Shoot him.’ They beat me like a criminal. I was rolling on the ground, breathing so fast that I thought I was going to give up,” he said emotionally.
Tuoyo added that the assault only stopped after the intervention of a female officer, who still forced him to perform frog jumps despite his injuries.
“I can’t even stand or lie down properly. My hands, legs, back, and head are in serious pain. The humiliation was too much. We live in a country where our human rights mean nothing,” he lamented.
He captioned his post, “Nigeria finally happened to me 💔😥🥺,” sparking a wave of reactions online from fans and human rights advocates.
The NDLEA has yet to respond to the allegations as of the time of filing this report.
The raid, which also led to the arrest of Lagos socialite Pretty Mike and over 100 guests, has drawn criticism from Nigerians who are demanding an independent investigation into the alleged misconduct of the officers.

The Nigerian entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning following reports that popular Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo has died at the age of 40 after an alleged battle with kidney cancer.

“I’m struggling to find the words. This news has truly broken me,” Nnadiekwe wrote.
“Nollywood has lost a rare soul, and I’m lost for words because this wasn’t the plan, Alex Ekubo.
“To think you already prepared your will — it’s a heartbreak I can’t quite describe. Rest well, my friend.”
According to a Nollywood source, Ekubo was rushed to the hospital on Monday after reportedly battling kidney cancer.
The source claimed the actor died on Tuesday afternoon after spending hours on life support.
The development comes months after concerns emerged over the actor’s health due to his prolonged absence from social media.
A check on his pages showed that his last post was made on December 30, 2024, raising questions among fans about his wellbeing.
Since the news broke, social media has been flooded with tributes from fans, celebrities, and colleagues mourning the actor’s reported death and celebrating his contributions to the movie industry.
As of the time of filing this report, neither Ekubo’s family nor his management team had issued an official statement regarding the reports.
Ekubo was widely known for his roles in several Nollywood blockbuster films and remained one of the most recognised actors in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

Adekunle Gold Clears Air on Twins Rumour, Reveals Truth About New Baby
Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has addressed widespread online speculation claiming that he and his wife, fellow musician Simi recently welcomed twins, clarifying that the reports are false.
The award-winning artiste made the clarification during a recent interview with Great Day Houston, where he spoke about his family life and creative partnership with his wife.

Adekunle Gold described marriage to Simi as both inspiring and creatively fulfilling, noting that sharing a home with another songwriter allows them to exchange ideas and support each other musically.
He also expressed joy about their growing family, hinting at the excitement of raising children who may show interest in music.
However, addressing the viral rumours directly, the singer dismissed claims that the couple had welcomed twins.
“That is just the internet talking. We didn’t have twins, we have a son,” he clarified.
The clarification comes months after the couple announced the arrival of their second child in April, without initially revealing the baby’s gender or name—an omission that sparked widespread speculation online.
Adekunle Gold and Simi got married in January 2019 and welcomed their first child, Adejare, in 2020.
The couple remains one of Nigeria’s most admired celebrity music couples, known for balancing their public careers with private family life.
