VDM Re-Arraigned In Abuja Over Alleged Cyberbullying Of Celebrities, Others
Popular social media figure and activist, Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), was re-arraigned on Thursday at the Federal High Court in Abuja over a five-count charge of cyberbullying, including allegations targeting public figures such as Iyabo Ojo, Tonto Dikeh, and music producer Samuel Oguachuba (a.k.a. Samklef).
The police filed fresh charges following a reassignment of the case to Justice Musa Liman, after the previous judge, Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon, was transferred to another court division.
VDM, who appeared in court to answer to the charges, pleaded not guilty.
The case, registered as FHC/ABJ/CR/140/2024, had initially been brought before Justice Olajuwon on May 22, 2024.

The allegations against the influencer stem from various online videos posted to his Instagram account, @verydarkblackman.
One of the videos, dated October 13, 2023, reportedly contained threats and bullying remarks directed at Samklef.
Another video posted on October 29, 2023, is said to have included offensive and obscene content about actress Iyabo Ojo. In that video, VDM allegedly claimed that “one Iyabo Ojo is having an indecent sexual relationship with her daughter.”
A separate charge accuses him of knowingly spreading false information on January 19, 2024.
The post allegedly claimed that “King Tonto Dikeh is involved in the criminal conversion of the proceeds from the crowdfunding for the Justice for Mobbad Movement and is the person behind the Gistlover blog.”
VDM is also alleged to have targeted public officials.
On March 19, 2024, he purportedly posted a video containing “insulting and annoying remarks” aimed at Deputy Inspectors General of Police and members of the National Assembly.
After entering his plea, VDM’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, requested that the court maintain the bail conditions previously granted by Justice Olajuwon. The police prosecutor, Victor Okoye, did not object.
Justice Liman accepted the request, allowing VDM to continue on the ₦10 million bail granted in June 2024.
The bail terms include the provision of two sureties who must be federal civil servants not below Grade Level 17 or staff of reputable firms, each with evidence of three years’ tax clearance.
The court subsequently adjourned the trial to July 24, 2025.

The Senior Pastor of Freedom Life International Christian Center, Richard Tochukwu, has declared that gospel music possesses the spiritual capacity to transform Nigeria, describing it as a divine instrument capable of restoring hope and unity in the nation.
Speaking during an interaction with journalists, the cleric said music inspired by God’s Word can positively influence Nigeria’s spiritual and socio-political landscape by promoting peace, comfort and moral revival.
According to him, gospel music goes beyond entertainment and should be seen as a ministry tool for national healing.

“Gospel music is not just sound; it carries power. When songs are inspired by Scripture, they can heal hearts, restore faith and redirect a nation toward righteousness,” he said.
Pastor Tochukwu made the remarks while discussing his latest worship single, “I Want To Pray,” a spiritually reflective song produced by Audio5.
He explained that the track was created to encourage believers to remain steadfast in prayer and maintain consistent fellowship with God.
The song draws inspiration from Luke 18:1, which urges believers to pray always and not lose heart.
A spiritual son of Paul Enenche, Pastor Tochukwu revealed that most of his songs are birthed from deep study of Scripture.
“Sometimes while studying or preaching from a passage, a melody begins to flow. The lyrics are drawn directly from the Word. Our songs are intentional; they carry the same message we preach,” he explained.
Reflecting on his journey, he recounted beginning as a drummer who also sang before discovering what he described as a divine instruction to minister through music.
“I realised that you don’t minister only through preaching. God made me understand that songs are another channel through which His Word can reach people. Every release is backed by Scripture,” he added.
Pastor Tochukwu currently serves in Lagos, combining pastoral leadership with music ministry.
The audio and video for “I Want To Pray” are now available on major digital streaming platforms.
