The Anambra Signage and Advertising Agency, ANSAA, has issued guidelines for the 2023 general elections in the state.
A public notice signed by Mr. Tony Ujubuonu, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ANSAA, said
presidential candidates of all political parties in Nigeria would pay N10million each to paste their campaign posters in the state.
The affected candidates are the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu; Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); Mr. Peter Obi of Labour Party, and Justice Peter Umeadi of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), among others.

While the presidential candidates are mandated to pay N10 million, senatorial candidates will pay N7million, House of Representatives candidates will pay N5million, and state House of Assembly candidates will pay N1million.
Ujubuonu also directed that the payment of posters be made to the government revenue account before pasting anywhere, noting that politicians who default on the payments would face prosecution before the election.
He announced that the state government has banned the pasting of campaign posters on street light poles; roundabouts and other public buildings and infrastructure in the state.
He stated that the statutory costs for out-of-home media and mobile advertising were pegged at N100,000 for 48 sheets of billboards; N500,000 for Spectacular billboards; N500,000 Gantry displays; N100,000 for an irregularly shaped billboard; N50,000 for the branded vehicle; and N5,000 for Keke rear branding, respectively.
The notice read: “As the campaign for the 2023 general election officially commences next month, September; Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency (ANSAA), in charge of all forms of Advertising in the state wishes to bring some important information to your notice.
“That posting of posters on bridges, road demarcations; street light poles, roundabouts, and public buildings remain prohibited.
“That every campaign material and advert form such as posters, public address systems, banners, fliers, buntings, T-shirts, caps and sundries must be duly approved for after full payment of the requisite fee.
“That every billboard must be displayed through a registered advertising practitioner after the advertising content has been vetted by the APCON.”

Obi, Kwankwaso Helped Tinubu In 2023, Will Do The Same In 2027, Says Nigerian Activist

Deji Adeyanju, a Nigerian activist and lawyer, has made explosive claims regarding the 2023 presidential election, suggesting that former Labour Party (LP) candidate Peter Obi and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) leader Rabiu Kwankwaso secretly supported President Bola Tinubu’s campaign.
In a post shared on his 𝕏 page Thursday, Adeyanju contended that Obi, who ran against Tinubu, would likely continue to support the president in future political endeavors.
He expressed certainty that Obi would decline any efforts to form a coalition aimed at challenging Tinubu in the next election.

“I’m 100% convinced that Obi worked for Tinubu in 2023 and will do so again. I might be wrong, but I’m convinced in my mind about this,” Adeyanju wrote.
“Once a businessman, always a businessman. Those still in doubt will see the clear handwriting before 2027. He will refuse to join the coalition,” he continued.
Additionally, Adeyanju accused Kwankwaso of working in favor of Tinubu during the previous election.
He emphasized that for any opposition coalition to succeed in the 2027 race, figures like Obi and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar—another presidential hopeful—must step aside.
“For the coalition to succeed, all the self-centered politicians like Atiku & Obi should promise not to run and allow neutral folks to run against Tinubu,” Adeyanju proposed. “This is how to put the interest of the nation above personal interest,” he added.
The activist went on to criticize the culture surrounding Nigerian politics, describing it as an industry driven by opportunism.
He lamented the presence of “merchants” surrounding top politicians, accusing them of putting personal gain ahead of the country’s well-being. “The biggest industry in Africa is politics,” Adeyanju said.
“And those around popular politicians are all merchants. Once politics is around the corner, they are in business. Con men and women who just want to cash out.”
