Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has taken to social media to celebrate the birthday of popular media influencer and entertainer, Tunde Ednut.

In a heartfelt post shared on Monday via X (formerly Twitter), Mr. Obi praised Tunde Ednut for his remarkable contributions to the entertainment industry.

The former Anambra State governor described Ednut as a creative and hardworking internet personality who has captivated audiences with his humor and consistency.

“Today, I join the world in celebrating the birthday of a remarkable Nigerian Media Influencer, Tunde Ednut,” Obi wrote.

“Tunde has earned his place as one of Nigeria’s most admired and hardworking internet celebrities, captivating audiences with his creativity, humor, and consistency.”

Acknowledging Ednut’s influence and ability to connect with people across borders, Obi lauded him as a significant force in the digital entertainment space.

He also extended his best wishes for good health, success, and continued contributions to the nation’s development.

The Catholic Diocese of Warri has announced the suspension of Rev. Fr. Daniel Okanatotor Oghenerukevwe from priestly duties following his reported marriage to Ms. Dora Chichah in the United States.

The announcement was contained in a statement titled “Decree of Suspension” dated January 16, 2025, and signed by the Bishop of Warri, Most Rev. Anthony Ovayero Ewherido, and the Chancellor, Very Rev. Fr. Clement Abobo.

The Diocese stated that Fr. Oghenerukevwe entered into marriage at the Streams of Joy Church in Dallas, Texas, on December 29, 2024.

The event was reportedly captured in a video that has since circulated widely on social media.

The Church described the action as a violation of Canon law, resulting in a Latae Sententiae suspension, which automatically takes effect for grave offenses.

The statement noted that Fr. Oghenerukevwe had earlier contacted the Diocese on November 30, 2024, requesting to be released from all canonical obligations tied to his priesthood.

However, before the process could be finalized, he proceeded with the marriage.

“By this action, Rev. Fr. Daniel Okanatotor Oghenerukevwe has incurred a Latae Sententiae suspension in accordance with the provisions of Canon 1394 §1, and I, Most Rev. Anthony Ovayero Ewherido, Bishop of Warri, do hereby officially decree that he is suspended from the exercise of sacred ministry,” the statement declared.

The Diocese emphasized that the suspension prohibits Fr. Oghenerukevwe from functioning as a priest within the Catholic Diocese of Warri or presenting himself as such in any capacity.

The suspension, it added, is immediate and carries full canonical implications under Canon 1333.

The Church further addressed the possibility of reconciliation, stating: “He retains the right to petition for the revocation or amendment of this decree in accordance with Canon 1734 §1 whenever he demonstrates a willingness to reform. May God grant him the grace to reflect on this situation and guide him on the path of reconciliation.”

Joseph Aloba, father of the late Nigerian musician Ilerioluwa, known as Mohbad, has expressed his growing frustration over the handling of his son’s death and the strained relationships with his son’s wife, Wunmi, and their child, Liam.

In a revealing interview aired on Silverbird TV, Aloba disclosed that he has not had any contact with Mohbad’s wife or son since his son’s passing.

“I’ve not seen Mohbad’s wife and son since his death. Even my son, Adura, none of them came to me. They know where I’m living. They are supposed to come to me,” Aloba said, adding that he expected his grandson, Liam, to be brought to him.

“The way I’m looking at things, they are supposed to bring that child to me and say, ‘This is your grandson.’”

In a controversial claim, Aloba demanded a DNA test to confirm the paternity of Liam, expressing skepticism over whether Mohbad was the biological father.

“I demanded DNA; they are supposed to say, ‘Daddy, do it at your convenient time,’ but they have been hiding it. So, it became a public matter. Let the court have the final say concerning it,” he said, emphasizing that he would respect the outcome.

When asked if Liam resembled his late son, Aloba strongly replied, “No, no, no. With what I’m seeing, he’s not. If the DNA says he is, it’s acceptable.”

Aloba also spoke about his strained relationship with his other son, Adura, who lived with Mohbad prior to his death.

According to Aloba, Adura, now 22, has not reached out to him or visited since the incident.

“Adura is supposed to fill me in on exactly what happened to his brother; they were living in the same house.

He is supposed to know,” Aloba explained, adding that it seemed as if others were interfering with their relationship. “It’s like some people are covering him.”

Regarding the ongoing investigation into Mohbad’s death, Aloba voiced his dissatisfaction with the delays in the coroner’s inquest and called on the Lagos State government to reopen the case.

“The issue is delay, and delay results in denial. I appreciate the people working with me, but unfortunately, I’m not satisfied with the way the case is going now,” he said.

Aloba also revealed that a private autopsy had been conducted to determine the cause of Mohbad’s death, but he is unable to present the results until the coroner’s inquest is resumed.

“The coroner inquest was delayed, so I want to appeal to the Lagos State government to reopen the coroner inquest. There are a lot of things we should be doing now. We have done the private autopsy, but I cannot present the result now until the coroner is opened,” he stated.

Although Aloba financed the private autopsy, he clarified that he has not personally seen the results, as they have been submitted to the court for review.

“I paid for it, but I can’t demand for the result. When I asked him, he said how is he going to present it in the court when they ask him if anybody has witnessed the result,” he explained.

This private autopsy was conducted after the family rejected the Lagos State Government’s initial autopsy, which was declared inconclusive.

Following this, the Coroner’s Court in Ikorodu granted permission for the family to carry out their own independent investigation into Mohbad’s death.
