Published

on

The national electricity grid has suffered another collapse, plunging several parts of Nigeria into darkness. The incident occurred at approximately 6:18 pm on Monday, October 14, 2024.

Reports indicate that power generation dropped significantly, decreasing from 3.87 gigawatts at 5 pm to 3.56 gigawatts by 6 pm, and ultimately falling to 0.00 gigawatts by 7 pm, leaving the entire grid non-operational.

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) confirmed the collapse in a statement issued on Monday evening.

According to the EEDC, the grid failure occurred at 6:48 pm and has resulted in widespread power outages across its network.

The EEDC informed its customers “of a general system collapse that occurred at 18:48 hours today, 14th October 2024,” saying this has resulted in the loss of supply currently being experienced across the EEDC network.

“Consequently, due to this development, all our interface TCN stations are out of supply, and we are unable to provide services to our customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States.

“We are on standby awaiting detailed information of the collapse and restoration of supply from the National Control Centre (NCC), Osogbo,” the EEDC stated in the statement signed by the Head of Corporate Communications, Emeka Ezeh.

The Abuja Disco also said, “Dear Valued Customer, Please be informed that the power outage being experienced is due to a system failure from the national grid at 6:58 pm today, affecting the power supply to our franchise areas.

“Rest assured, we are working with the relevant stakeholders to restore power as soon as the grid is stabilised. Thank you for your understanding.”

This comes after Pisciotta previously sued West in June, accusing him of sexual harassment and stalking.

This development added a new controversy to West’s already tumultuous personal life. This allegation has led to questions about the dynamics of Kanye’s relationship with his wife Censori.

West in a message cited in the legal filing, reportedly wrote to Censori, “I wanna fuck your mum. Before she leaves. Should I add I meant I want you to watch me fuck your mom.”

He sent the text message during her mother’s visit to Los Angeles, when Censori was still in the country on a work visa and had not yet married West.

Censori in her reply noted that he mother is married. “She’s (Alexandra) married. I’m going to fuck someone this weekend and tell you the next time you are inside me.”

The lawsuit further explained that Censori felt compelled to respond, as failing to do so could jeopardize her employment and, ultimately, her visa status.

She also claimed that West had shown similar sexual interest in other women who had been granted work visas through his connections with Adidas and Gap.

These women were allegedly given vague job titles within West’s Yeezy organisation and were required to sign non-disclosure agreements upon arriving in the U.S.

At the time of this report, Kanye West has not yet responded to Pisciotta’s allegations.
