Man Beats Wife To Death Over property's ownership In Ogun

The Ogun State Command of the Nigerian Police Force says that a Chinese citizen, named Yespon, who almost killed his father’s employee in Ijebu-Ode has disappeared into the thin air.

Biztellers reports that Yespon evaporated from the scene after allegedly using an electric shocker on one of his father’s employees, Kelvin Godwin, at a timber factory in Ijebu-Ode.

The unfortunate incident happened at a timber forest on the Ijebu-Ode-Owa Express Road last Tuesday at about 5.30pm.

In response to reports on the ugly incident, on Sunday, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident and assured that the Obalende Divisional Police Headquarters had intensified efforts to arrest the fleeing suspect.

Odutola said, “There was an allegation that Godwin stole flour that belongs to the factory he works at. An investigation reveals the factory is owned by Yespon’s father.

“The suspect allegedly used an electric shocker on Godwin and fled the scene.

“Our men in the division have intensified efforts to arrest the suspect. However, the father, who is the owner of the factory, has been with the victim, who has been responding to treatment, in the hospital to offer him support.

“Meanwhile, the case will be transferred to the State CID for further investigation.”

Investigations revealed that trouble started when Godwin, who works in the factory, belonging to Yespon’s father, identified as Yenchingin was suspected of stealing flour at the factory.

The theft allegation led to an argument between the two which saw the absconding suspect draw out the electric shocker with which he attacked Godwin.

The attack left the victim unconsciousness, but other workers, with the support of Yenchingin, rushed Godwin to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

He was said to be responding to treatment.

During a court session on Friday, EFCC counsel, Mrs. Bilikisu Buhari, applied to withdraw the warrant, stating that the charges had already been served on Thankgod’s lawyer, Mr. Monday Ubani, SAN, during open court proceedings.
