BBNaija S9: Nelly Responds To Theft Accusations, Seeks Camera Footage For Clarity

Published

on

Big Brother Naija Season 9 housemate, Nelly has vehemently denied allegations of theft levelled against her by fellow housemate, Chinwe.

The controversy erupted after Chinwe accused Nelly of stealing her 24-carat gold jewelry.

The incident unfolded when Sooj, Nelly’s boyfriend, discovered the missing jewelry in Nelly’s laundry bag and returned it to Chinwe. This discovery led to an immediate confrontation and subsequent accusations against Nelly.

In an exclusive interview with Kassia on Wednesday morning, Nelly refuted any involvement in the alleged theft, claiming ignorance about how the jewelry ended up in her possession. She expressed frustration over the accusation and stated that, despite considering a strong reaction, her boyfriend advised her to address the matter calmly and privately.

“I was waiting for Chinwe’s confrontation this morning,” Nelly remarked. “But when I faced her, she couldn’t repeat her accusations. If she thinks I’m a thief, she should say it to my face. There are cameras everywhere; they will show the truth.”

While the live feed did not capture Nelly’s confrontation with Chinwe, it showed the aftermath of their discussion, which appeared to end on a somewhat conciliatory note. The footage revealed Nelly apologising, but the nature of her apology was unclear—whether it was related to the jewelry or another issue.

Chinwe responded to Nelly’s apology with a brief, “Yeah, it’s okay.”

Nelly is now requesting a review of the camera footage to clear her name and resolve the dispute.

IK Ogbonna Criticises CAN Over ‘Fake Miracles’ As Lord’s Chosen Goes Viral

Nollywood actor, IK Ogbonna has criticized the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) over the rising trend of alleged “fake miracles” in certain churches.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Ogbonna stated that using God’s name to promote falsehood is a betrayal of the gospel.

While cautioning Christians against social media trends that disrespect their faith, the actor called on the federal government and CAN to regulate and hold the bad actors accountable.

“It is heartbreaking to see pastors faking miracles to deceive and exploit the vulnerable people. These acts stain the true essence of Christianity, turning faith into a spectacle for selfish gain. The consequences? Broken trust, lost lives, and faith manipulated for profit.

“To those pastors, it is time to reflect. Using God’s name for falsehood is a betrayal of the gospel. The victims should remember that their faith is sacred, and true miracles don’t come from deception.

“Let us also be cautious not to get carried away by social media trends that ridicule and disrespect our faith. Christianity should never be used as a tool for views, likes or viral content.

“I call on government and religious bodies like the CAN to step up, regulate, and hold bad actors accountable. Christianity is not fraud, manipulation, or mockery. Let’s stand to protect the integrity of our faith!”

The actor’s post came following the controversial video of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries’ members’ strange testimonies.

The trending video captured an elderly woman who claimed she was robbed by four armed men but miraculously gained control of their guns after saying “I’m a chosen.”

Another man recounted being rescued from kidnappers by a lion, which lifted him into the air and guided him to safety.

Additionally, a survivor claimed to have endured machete attacks and gunfire without sustaining any injuries.
