Black Sherif Mocks Nigerian Celebs After AFCON Loss
In the aftermath of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) final, renowned Ghanaian singer and rapper Mohammed Ismail Sherif, popularly known as Black Sherif couldn’t resist a light-hearted dig at Nigerian celebrities.
Expressing his delight over Ivory Coast’s triumph against the Super Eagles in the Sunday, February 11 final, the “Kwaku the Traveller” artist added a touch of humor to the competitive spirit surrounding the sporting event.
Black Sherif revealed his happiness over Nigeria’s AFCON loss, citing previous teasing from Nigerian colleagues during Ghana’s early exit in the group stage.
The artist pledged to persist in playfully trolling Nigeria in the aftermath of the Super Eagles’ defeat.
Via his X handle, he wrote: “Blaqbonez called me on Facetime to laugh at me when my country’s Black Stars was sent home, the guy couldn’t stop smiling.
“Odumodu was on Facetime the next 3 days telling the Jeweller to make me the cheapest piece he’s ever made, And na me call am for the Jeweller o! You want me to shut up? I’m going to bed. We go again this afternoon. Super Eagles! you do this one.”
Recall that despite a heroic performance by Nwabali, the Super Eagles faced a 2-1 defeat to Ivory Coast.
The Ivorians dominated, exploiting the Eagles’ negative football approach, and capitalizing on their lackluster performance.
The scoring commenced in the 38th minute when William Troost-Ekong’s close-range header left the goalkeeper helpless.
However, in the 49th minute, Max Gradel’s attempt from the rebound was thwarted by a block.
Cote d’Ivoire leveled the score at 1-1 in the 62nd minute as Franck Kessie showcased his goal-scoring prowess, calmly heading in a corner from close range.
The Ivorians secured their deserved lead in the 81st minute when Simon Adingra delivered a precise lofted cross into the box.
Sebastien Haller capitalized on the opportunity, executing a swift shot into the top right corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.
The pursuit of passion would see Nigerian music superstar, David Adeleke, famous as Davido investing heavily in the movie industry.
He divulged part of his plans in a recent interview with content creator, Darryl.
According to the award-winning singer, his academic background in business marketing had always positioned him for a career in the broader entertainment sector.

He said, “I studied business marketing, so I would have still been in the entertainment space if I wasn’t singing but probably, more of behind the scenes.”
Davido revealed that he was making concrete moves into the African film industry, with plans to invest in several film projects before the year runs out.
It was gathered that he was working closely with his longtime music video director, Dammy Twitch, on a number of creative ideas.
“I am investing in a couple of films this year. Shout-out to my director, Dammy Twitch. We have some ideas, series coming. The film space right now in Africa is going bankruptcy. So, we are definitely going to tap into that,” he declared.
In addition to producing, the singer revealed that he is also interested in acting.
According to him, he has been demonstrating his acting skills in some of his music videos.
“I can also act. I can act for real. I act in my music videos. I acted in music videos like ‘Jowo’, ‘Nwa Baby’,” he noted.
Biztellers reports that Davido on Friday released his highly anticipated fifth studio album, titled ‘5ive’.
In the lead-up to the album’s release, the award-winning singer had dropped several singles, including ‘Be There Still’ and ‘Funds’, which features rappers Odumodublvck and Chike.
He also unveiled ‘Awuke’, a collaboration with YG Marley.
The new album is a 17-tracker, boasting an impressive lineup of guest appearances from international and local artistes.
Some of the featured acts include Chris Brown, Omah Lay, Victony, Victoria Monett, Becky G, and Shensea.
‘5ive’ comes two years after the release of last studio album ‘Timeless’, which debuted at number one on Billboard’s World Albums Chart.
Nigerian Fuji singer, Alhaji Taye Adebisi, popularly known as Taye Currency, has shared the painful story of how he lost N10 million in a failed investment scheme linked to Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX).
Speaking emotionally during a stage performance in a video that has since gone viral, the Fuji star revealed he was introduced to the scheme by trusted associates who had already profited from the platform.
Currency recalled how the individuals, including members of his inner circle, encouraged him to commit funds after they claimed to have earned significant returns.

“On April 1, Sodiq came to my house and said Lateef, the brand manager, had collected some money and also introduced Alaba and Small London had also collected their money, and Brother Muca,” he recounted.
The musician further explained how each of them pooled money into the scheme, mentioning that: “Alaba used N1.2 million he stole from the stage to invest in CBEX. Brother Muca also put in his work fee of N500,000. Sodiq used the money he was saving in the band, N850,000. Lateef invested N1.4 million.”
Motivated by the apparent success stories around him, Taye Currency said he withdrew his insurance savings and joined the scheme, only to lose the entire amount.
“Lateef said he used N200k to collect N600k, and I got motivated. I withdrew the money I had saved with insurance, see my life in the open. I invested N10m in CBEX on April 1, but everything vanished,” he said.
Expressing his anger and disappointment, the singer did not hold back in blaming those who introduced him to CBEX. In his words: “If they die well, they won’t rest well, because I was on my own before you took me to CBEX.”
Taye Currency’s experience highlights the growing number of victims affected by the collapse of CBEX, which has been at the centre of controversy in recent weeks after investors reported persistent withdrawal failures and the sudden disappearance of their funds.
Reports estimate that over N1.3 trillion may have been lost to the platform, which lured thousands of Nigerians with promises of high returns on digital investments.
Reacting to the outcry, Nigeria’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) issued a public warning stating that CBEX is not licensed to operate as a digital assets exchange in the country and advised Nigerians to avoid engaging with the platform.
Controversial street-hop singer, Okikiola Badmus, better known by his stage name Portable, has been remanded at the Oke Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin, Kwara State, after failing to meet the bail terms set by an Upper Area Court.
The singer was arraigned on Monday following allegations of defamation filed against him by veteran Fuji star, Akorede Saheed, popularly known as Saheed Osupa.
Although the court approved bail for Portable in the sum of N1 million, the conditions attached proved difficult for the singer to meet immediately.

The court stipulated that he must produce two sureties in like sum — one of whom must be “either the Chairman or Secretary of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria,” while the second must be “a property owner within a Government Reserved Area in Ilorin, supported by a valid Certificate of Occupancy.”
