Bobrisky: ‘See You In Court’ – Falana’s Daughter Folakemi Tells VeryDarkMan

Published

on

Folakemi Falana, daughter of human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, has issued a threat to social media critic, VeryDarkMan for failing to retract alleged defamatory statements made about her family members.

She made the threat in an Instagram post on Friday, while denying bribery and corruption allegations against her father, Falana and her brother, singer Falz.

Recall that embattled crossdresser Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in prison on April 12, 2024, following his involvement in the abuse of the Nigerian currency, the naira.

BIZTELLERS reports that VeryDarkMan on Tuesday September 24, 2024, released a leaked voice recording of Bobrisky claiming that Falz contacted him about obtaining a presidential pardon for him through his father, Femi Falana.

According to the leaked audio, Bobrisky further stated that Femi Falana negotiated a settlement of N10 million for the case.

Reacting to the controversial claims on Wednesday, Falz denied the allegation, noting that Bobrisky only contacted him to seek financial assistance of N3 million to pay some officials for him to stay in the VIP section of the Correctional Centre.

Falz and his father, through Falana and Falana’s Chambers, issued VeryDarkMan a 24-hour ultimatum to retract his comments.

Responding to the ultimatum in a video on social media, VeryDarkMan explained that he never defamed the duo, noting that he only reacted to the leaked audio he shared on his platform.

However, reacting to VeryDarkMan’s response to the ultimatum, Folakemi Falana in an Instagram post, shared that Falana & Falana Chambers have been providing free legal support for individuals seeking presidential pardons since 2016.

While expressing her disappointment over the development, Folakemi wrote: “My Parents and our firm, Falana & Falana have been applying for presidential pardons for Nigerians FREE way before a lot of you were born or could talk.

“It’s even crazier that all it takes is for a ridiculous character like VeryDarkMan to accuse my dad and Falz of bribery, corruption and perversion of the course of justice and you people suddenly forget who they are and what they stand for.

“For him to have the audacity to go as far as even accusing Falz of being homosexual is wild. For the record, anyone can write the President to request a pardon for any convicted person in Nigeria.

“Do you think my dad or Falz need Bob’s money??? For what? Seeing as you have refused to do the needful, #verydarkblackman see you in court.”

James Brown Did Not Visit Bobrisky In Prison As Claimed – Report

Published

on

Investigative findings have revealed that James Brown, who claimed to have visited Nigerian transgender icon Bobrisky in prison, did not meet her during his visit.

This revelation comes after social media user Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, released a phone conversation on Tuesday in which Bobrisky confessed to serving her sentence outside of prison.

In the recording, Bobrisky alleged that she paid ₦15 million to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to have her money laundering charges dropped.

These disclosures have raised questions about the credibility of Brown’s claims regarding his purported visit.

The findings indicate that, contrary to Brown’s announcement on June 8, he did not meet Bobrisky at Kirikiri prison.

Sources confirmed that by the time of Brown’s visit, Bobrisky had already been released after serving just three weeks of her six-month sentence.

A source close to James Brown stated that he actually visited another inmate named Vindicate, who had invited him to collaborate on a song from prison. This visit was reportedly approved by prison authorities due to their interest in the project.

The source said, By the time James visited, Bobrisky was no longer in prison.

“James went there to see one guy called Vindicate who had invited him to join in recording a song from prison. The prison authorities liked the idea of a song recorded from prison, so they let him come.

“I don’t know why James lied that he went to see Bobrisky; maybe for clout. I will send you videos of James in prison with the people he went there to see. But have you ever seen just one photo of Bob and James in prison?

The timeline of Brown’s visit aligns with reports indicating that Bobrisky had left Kirikiri by June, allegedly due to a paid arrangement that allowed her to serve her sentence outside prison.

Bribery Bombshell: NBA Calls For Independent Probe Into Bobrisky’s ₦15m Payoff To EFCC Officers

Published

on

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has called for an independent probe into shocking allegations that officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) were paid ₦15 million by controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, to dismiss money laundering charges against him.

These explosive claims were made by blogger Martins Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, sparking widespread public outrage.

NBA President Afam Osigwe, in a bold statement on Wednesday, demanded that any EFCC officers implicated in the alleged bribery be immediately sacked and prosecuted, heightening tensions around the case.

In light of the growing controversy, the NBA has also urged the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, to step in and oversee the independent investigation.

The call for their involvement underscores the gravity of the situation and the need for transparency in handling these serious allegations.

EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede has already launched an internal investigation into the scandal, summoning both Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan for questioning.

The allegations stem from a viral video posted by VeryDarkMan, who claims Bobrisky paid the hefty bribe to escape prosecution following his infamous naira-spraying event in April, which resulted in a court sentencing him to six months in prison.

VeryDarkMan further alleged that Bobrisky paid additional millions to enjoy special privileges behind bars.

Bobrisky has denied the accusations, but the EFCC and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) have been forced to open their own investigations as the controversy deepens, sparking a national conversation about corruption and power.

The NBA statement reads,”The allegation of bribery to reduce or drop charges is very disturbing. An urgent and thorough investigation is needed to determine whether bribes were paid or are sometimes paid to influence the nature of charges brought against defendants in criminal cases.”

“The NBA therefore demands that the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) not only respond to the allegation that Bobrisky did not serve his time in a correctional facility but also provide transparent details on the conditions under which Bobrisky served his sentence.

“If it is proven that he was allowed to serve his sentence outside a Correctional Facility, in breach of the law and a court order, the officers and officials responsible must be prosecuted and dismissed from service.”

Anointing Shouldn’t Hinder You From Being Romantic, Adeboye Urges Couples

Published

on

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has emphasised the importance of romance in marriage alongside spiritual commitments.

In a message shared on his Facebook page, Adeboye disclosed that he and his wife, Foluke, still use affectionate pet names in private, noting that “anointing does not diminish romance.”

He encouraged married couples to nurture intimacy and romance, ensuring their marriages remain vibrant and joyful.

He explained that some pastors avoid romantic activities, believing it distracts from their spiritual focus.

Adeboye emphasised that being anointed should not negate the need for romance, drawing an example from the Bible.

He wrote, “The fact that you are a Christian does not in any way take romance out of your marriage. Marriage is the only institution where romance and intimacy are allowed between a man and a woman.

“Some pastors hardly go on dates with their spouses because they consider such a romantic activity as a distraction from their focus on spiritual matters. Some of them don’t even play with their spouses anymore. Beloved, the anointing does not reduce the need for romance in marriage.

“Isaac was an anointed man of God and a successful businessman, yet in Genesis 26:8, the Bible says he was being romantic with his wife.

“And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife. Don’t become too rigid in your marriage; don’t have more fun elsewhere without your spouse. Make the times that you and your spouse spend together so much fun that you are always looking forward to seeing each other again. If you are married, remember how you used to talk for long hours with your spouse before you got married and had children; revive that relationship again. Your spouse is still the same fellow you were very fond of, and the things you loved in him or her are still there. Don’t let all the cares of this life distract you from the gems in your spouse.

Adeboye suggested simple acts like writing notes, using pet names, and surprising each other to keep the romance alive.

“Once in a while, compose a poem for your spouse and read it to him or her in a romantic setting. Spice things up with pleasant surprises every now and then. Write a note and put it in his or her bag so that when they get to the office and open their bag, they will see the note and smile. Have a pet name that you call each other behind closed doors.

“Up until today, there is a pet name my wife calls me when we are alone. I equally have a pet name that I call her, and every time I call her by that name, she cannot but smile at me lovingly. When we are alone, we are lovers, not Daddy G.O and Mummy G.O. Your marriage can be like heaven on earth if you and your spouse are deliberate about remaining the lovebirds that you were when you first got married.

“Don’t let the romance die.” he added.
