Cyber Bullying: Savage Files Petition Against Davido
Renowned Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage, has filed a petition with the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, on concerns over threats of assault from fellow artist David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.
In a letter addressed to the Commissioner of Police dated 9th January, 2024, Tiwa Savage detailed the distressing situation that unfolded after she posted a photo featuring herself and Sophia Momodu on her Instagram Story.
According to the letter, Davido allegedly bombarded her with insults and threats, accusing her of taking sides with Sophia Momodu and taunting him.
The exchange escalated when Davido sent messages to Tiwa Savage’s manager, expressing displeasure and using disrespectful language towards her.
Tiwa Savage responded by urging Davido not to contact her, highlighting her previous support during challenging times in his life.
The situation has led to a series of calls and messages from mutual connections, inquiring about the dispute and portraying Tiwa Savage as the aggressor.
Furthermore, Davido allegedly warned her to “be careful in Lagos because he was going to f**k [her] up.”
Tiwa Savage also stated that if any harm befalls her or her family, she holds Davido responsible.
The petition includes attached screenshot images of the exchanges between Tiwa Savage and Davido.
Part of the letter reads: “I am writing to bring to your attention a distressing situation involving myself, Tiwatope Omolara Savage, popularly known as Tiwa Savage and MR. DAVID ADELEKE popularly known as Davido.
“On the 23rd of December, I made a post which included myself and Sophia Momodu on my Instagram Story – a feature on Instagram which allows you to put up a post for twenty-four hours, and MR. DAVID ADELEKE sent messages to my manager who’s also part of his management team that I shouldn’t worry and should never say a word to him and that I was taunting him, uttering very disrespectful, malicious and derogatory words to my person.
“I responded to MR. DAVID ADELEKE’s message and told him not to reach out to me especially as I feel like I have been there for him and his daughter, Imade and more importantly when he lost his son.
“The events of that day have also led to a barrage of calls and messages from our mutual connections, asking me what I did to MR. DAVID ADELEKE that he’s upset that I choose to maintain a relationship with Imade’s mother, Sophia Momodu who he’s having issues with and also painting the exchange to look like I was the aggressor. He has also told our mutual connections to warn me to “becareful in Lagos because he was going to f**k me up”.
This is beginning to feel like some form of online and offline harassment not just to me but also members of my team.”
Controversial Nigerian singer Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington or Akpi, has been released from Kuje Prison following a court directive.
Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju disclosed this development on Tuesday, stating on X (formerly Twitter), “Speed Darlington is out of Kuje Prison.”
The singer’s release came after an Abuja court granted him bail. This decision followed intense public pressure on the Nigeria Police Force, which led to his arraignment.

Prior to his release, Speed Darlington had petitioned Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Force Intelligence Bureau, DIG Dasuki Galadanchi, over his prolonged detention. He called on the DIG to comply with a court order directing his release or formal arraignment.
Justice M.S. Liman had earlier issued an order on December 23, 2024, mandating the police to charge the singer within 48 hours or release him unconditionally.
Speed Darlington’s arrest stemmed from allegations he made against Grammy Award-winning singer Burna Boy. The singer accused Burna Boy of being involved in an immoral relationship with embattled U.S. rapper and music executive Sean Combs, also known as P. Diddy.
The situation has sparked widespread discussions, with many Nigerians expressing relief at Speed Darlington’s freedom while others continue to debate the circumstances surrounding his arrest.

This act of generosity occurred amid an ongoing feud between Burna Boy and the Cubana Chief Priest.

Following the donation, Cubana Chief Priest clarified that Bethel Okechukwu is not his brother, stating, “I have only one biological big brother & two kid sisters. They ain’t doing so bad.” He emphasized that he is not obligated to support his siblings financially and urged the public to verify such claims.
As of now, there are no credible reports indicating that Burna Boy instructed Bethel Okechukwu to take any specific actions towards Cubana Chief Priest after receiving the $30,000. The narrative appears to be centered around Burna Boy’s charitable gesture and Cubana Chief Priest’s subsequent clarification regarding his familial relationships.
