Emeka Ike Reveals Heartbreaking Losses Amidst Ex-Wife’s Allegations
Veteran Nollywood actor Emeka Ike has opened up about the devastating impact of assault allegations made by his ex-wife, Suzanne Emma.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Rubbin’ Minds with host Hero Daniels, Ike disclosed how the accusations led to significant losses in terms of properties and access to his children.
The couple’s marriage, which lasted 14 years and produced four children, was dissolved in 2017 by a Lagos Island Customary Court due to persistent battery issues.
Ike explained that he refrained from addressing the allegations on social media because he was being “bullied” and knew that attempting to clarify the situation might not be effective. He expressed the difficulty of handling the situation when people online continued to perpetuate false narratives.
Ike said, “I didn’t come on the internet space to clarify the allegations against me because it’s difficult to clarify because the same people that were bullying me on the internet, they were still there. They are gonna say, ‘Don’t mind him. He is still missing her. Move on.’
“And if you’re not prepared to handle it, you will be crushed. My secondary school, St. Nicholas College, on CMD road, Magodo, was shut down. Over N480 million investment that year was shut down. And all I heard was constant battery. I was like, ‘I don’t beat this lady. What’s going on? Babe, what’s going on? They said I beat you, do I?’
“And she [my ex-wife] said, ‘No. But you’re a star, you know, they can always manipulate things and all that.’ So, I was gullible until I discovered that she was actually the one behind all this whole thing. Some ladies are too desperate for marriage legally. And she actually told me one time that I am not the marriage type. And I didn’t understand it. So, the young men need to know that there are plenty ladies that are not the marriage type lately.”
Despite pleas from Ike, his family, and even friends in court, Emma was determined to divorce.
Ike suggested that external influences, possibly blackmail by “gunmen” Emma was involved with, might have played a role in her decision to end their marriage.
The actor concluded with advice to young men, cautioning them about individuals not genuinely inclined towards marriage.
Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy has responded to allegations from his estranged associate, Sophia Egbueje, who claimed he failed to honor a promise to buy her a Lamborghini.
The controversy began after a leaked voice note surfaced online, in which Sophia allegedly stated that Burna Boy had assured her of the luxury car following an intimate encounter.
However, she claimed he did not fulfill the promise, leading her to cut off communication with him.

The leaked conversation reignited discussions on social media, with many debating the authenticity of the claims and Burna Boy’s involvement.
In response, the Grammy-winning singer addressed the allegations in a viral video, seemingly mocking the situation through a playful tune.
He sang: “I have reached Kenya mehn. No do, I told you. If you don’t get me, forget about it. I didn’t buy Lambo, is that why you’re shouting?”
His reaction has sparked further conversations online, with some viewing it as a dismissal of the claims, while others see it as an indirect acknowledgment of the situation.
As of now, Sophia Egbueje has not issued a response to Burna Boy’s remarks.
Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, has alleged that his twin brother Peter Okoye is behind the fraud case filed against their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.
Recall that Jude was arraigned on Wednesday before Justice Alexander Owoeye of the Federal High Court in Lagos on a seven-count charge of money laundering.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) accused him of laundering ₦1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59 through his company, Northside Music Ltd.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges. His lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, requested that he be remanded in EFCC custody, but the prosecution, led by Larry Aso, opposed the request.
The court ruled that he be held at the Ikoyi Correctional Facility pending the hearing of his bail application.
On Friday, Paul Okoye addressed journalists outside the court, declaring his support for Jude and alleging that Peter was responsible for his legal troubles.
“I’m supporting him because I know the truth,” Paul said in a viral video.
“The truth is Peter is the one putting Jude through these things. He is putting him in prison, and I’m here to bring him out. The same crime that they accused him of doing, then Peter is guilty, Paul is also guilty too.”
The allegations have reignited tensions within the Okoye family, which has experienced publicized disputes since the breakup of the P-Square music group in 2017.
The brothers reconciled in 2021, but the latest development suggests that unresolved issues may still exist.
As of press time, Peter Okoye has yet to respond to his brother’s claims.
A Magistrate Court sitting in Sabo, Yaba, Lagos, has ruled that popular musician Abdulazeez Fashola, known as Naira Marley, and socialite Sam Larry had no involvement in the death of singer Aloba Oladimeji Ilerioluwa, popularly called Mohbad.
Delivering the ruling on Tuesday, Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje read the legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP), which stated that Naira Marley had no case to answer.

The court also discharged Owodunni Ibrahim, popularly known as Primeboy, and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde.
The verdict comes after months of intense speculation and legal proceedings following Mohbad’s tragic passing.
His death had sparked widespread controversy, leading to public outcry and calls for justice.
However, while some suspects were cleared, the DPP recommended the prosecution of auxiliary nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe and Mohbad’s friend, Ayobami Sadiq, for reckless and negligent acts.
They will be charged under Section 251 (e) of the Criminal Law, Ch C.17, Vol.3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
